Use insoles.

You can find them easily in most supermarkets, or in smaller specialist/convenience stores, or even on the side of the road where old women and men sell them cheaply. They make most shoes a bit more comfortable and can provide a snugger fit if your shoes are loose.

Also you can find different types depending on your need: i.e. bamboo ones to keep cool; charcoal ones to remove odour; soft ones for comfort; gel ones with podiatric benefits.

Go have a look, you'll find some that suit your need!

Hi Sunilsah!

As a foreigner I have been exposed to all the great history sites of Beijing I should visit.

One came to mind for your shoe conundrum.

Neiliansheng shoe shop
34 Dazhalan Jie, Chongwen
T: 010-6301-4863
Subway Line 2 at Qianmen

They are the oldest existing cloth shoe shop in China ( since 1853 ) and provide custom service! I know there known for there cloth shoe, but heard they have other types to?
You may want to give a call or drop by, maybe they can help you out Shy

In April 1983 the Friendship store in Beijing has 12 pairs of men's size 8 black industrial shoes and 11 pair of women's size 6 brown industrial shoes.

That was the inventory allotment for the entire year.

Things have changed but not that much.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
