Is it possible for a school to give you a contract without even conducting an interview?I have been applying for jobs and the other day a school (English Training School ) sent me a contract but the problem is I didn't do any interview. Is it normal?
Thanks in advance

If you you were from an English-speaking country and attached your photos including your passport copy, It would be normal to me. I would also recommend you to check the school address on baidu since some schools lie about their address to attract foreigners or to exchange the foreign teacher among many schools in the same city. In general be careful and ask them a lot of questions. Let's see what the others would recommend you.
Hi Silverstine,
Thanks for the info, actualy when applying I attached my photo,C.V and Passport but I ain't from the big 5, I'm from Kenya. Is it still OK?
Regards
Kapitan
Remember that YOU are also interviewing THEM. If you get the no feeling, move on.
Yes, such a thing can be normal here but you should bear in my that shows how much commitment the school have in providing adequate education. All they want is a body to fill a position. Any school that thinks in that way are likely to lousy employers as well. Any school that acts in a professional manner would never do such a thing. Ask yourself if you genuinely want to take the risk of working there.

Hi
That really makes sense,I was also shocked to get a contract without any interview.Anyway thanks a lot
Are they offering a genuine Z visa? Because to be honest from what I've heard central government are supposed to be stopping provinces issuing visas (for teachers at least) to anyone not from one of the 'big five'. If they aren't offering a Z visa you may well get to the place and find you get 30% of the salary and are living in a doss house, because the contract is illegal and so meaningless. If they are offering a Z visa you will be legit and if they try to screw you, you can (usually as a last resort) go to the PSB to get it sorted, (eventually).

Hi Hugh,
They told me they are authorized to give Z visa but I don't know if its genuine or not.I know that's the worst thing that can happen to any teacher, having your salary slashed.Anyway thanks a lot for the info
