well im sure you will find a lot of guys who do this, and most chinese think all foreigners are the same, the problem isnt on our side, because guys will always get drunk and chase girls, and i dont mean to offend anyone,chinese people need to be educated and understand that anyone is capable of doing anything regardless of race,

The only way this image would change is if people would stop taking the worse people of the lot as a prime example of said group. But of course that will never happen.

So you pretty much can't do anything, except behave, to prove your worthiness as a single individual.

Still, it's a really valid point.  As for the chasing women, that strikes me as a more-or-less normal preoccupation.  As for the drinking, I think that the percentage of foreigners who are drunks here is probably much higher than normal, at least that has been my own personal experience, like it or not.

Strangely enough (at least for an ugly old fart like me), I have been chased by Chinese girls, not the other way around.  I am not complaining mind you, it is one hell of an ego boost when some mid-20's hottie says she wants to be your mistress.  The only time I have minded was when one of the girls chasing me was a bunny boiler.  

It wasn't bad enough that she was a stalker and actually left love notes on my car (thankfully the wife never found these), but she was actually one of my employees.  I eventually had to fire her because she wouldn't stop.  And even then I had to get the building security to escort her out.

But drinking, yea, I will cop to that.  But in my defense, I didn't go to China to drink.  I drank because I came to China.

This has been been posted too often. I think you aren't a Chinese woman. Men chase women where ever  they are, in any country. Thats normal. What would be weird is if we changed and chased man. Eewww Chinese men. China has more women than my country, try living in my town. Nothing, not even sheep live here.

 I drank beer and wine in China. I was never drunk. China needs better beer and Chinese liquor sucks. Rice wine is only good for cleaning toilets.

I do speak for myself, and dislike generalities.  I am a foreigner, and do live in China, it is my choice.  And I do drink, but have never been drunk in my life.  I do enjoy one or two drinks each day, or wine with my meals, but dislike even getting tipsie.

And as far as women is concerned, I am happily attached to a local Lady, and we are exclusive.  She is a model, and does get lots of offers, but she claims Chinese men are all "dirty minded", and will not have an interest on any.  Besides, she claims she is vey happy with me, seeks no one else.  And I do feel the same, get a lot of propositions, slips of paper with phone numbers, many QQ requests.  But I do ignore all of them, what I have is not worth the risk of loosing it due to a 5 minute pleasure adventure.

So, one I do resent your generalization, even if I do agree that some foreigners just do that, but certainly not all of them.  And second, remember it does take two to dance, and many locals just will not leave foreigners alone.  So, do not blame just one side.

Yes indeed.  I came here to drink AND chase Chinese women.  And damn there is sooooo many Chinese women here to chase it is hard to control myself sometimes.

OK really as others have said already they tend to chase us and as a man it is tough sometimes.

Just to clarify, I am only repeating what was said to me by her. I was offended by the generalization of it as well being a foreigner myself. The remark about me being a chasable Chinese girl was a joke. I said to her "would you be offended if I said all Chinese are cheats and crooks?" Which I do not believe is true but I was trying to get a point across to her.

I didn't drink when I got here... a year ago ...  gotta go some baiju now ...........  back now...and I don't chase Chinese women, 'cause I already married one and she is pretty much the perfect wife,,,,,,,,,,,  only wish I was nicer to her on a daily basis, before and after a few drinks.

Totally disagree. Not all men are here to drink and chase women or young students.  Maybe your friend is feeling insecure and alone. Sure many foreigner will of course have them bad habits which will reflect on those who don't, tarring everyone with the same brush is a bit like saying all Chinese are scammers, cheats, liars and thieves. Beside maybe it's the girls who drink and chase the guy's, just to scam and cheat them of course.

Let's be honest, though, there are males and females of this species for a reason, nature will win in the end. Foreign men probably find it easier to find a local women because in China it is the 'foreigner' who is 'exotic' and the exotic is often found to be attractive.

This subject might be done to death but here the responses:

- In fact, I did not see this so much. I found most foreigners were quite good and overall well-behaved. I found most of the foreign teachers we met were perfectly nice young people. 

- Once again it needs to be understood, reminded and taught:  There is no land called 'Foreignerania' where a race of people called 'foreigners' come from 'foreigner culture'. I'm not part of the Pakistani culture. I'm not an African.

Canada may not be the most well-informed country on Earth but we are capable of understanding Chinese tourists are NOT Moroccans who are NOT Swedish tourists who are not the same as African visitors.

Maybe China can figure that out one day.

- Having said that, a lot of us could remember we are somewhat 'representatives' of our countries. Like it or not. We ought to make a good impression and further more take their culture into consideration. At UBC you have completely uncommited 'condom sex' with zero regard 1 day later. Try not to impose that here like it was your mission in life.

- And having said all that - yes, a lot of visitors to China are young people who are on 'vacation' and they are wanting to chase girls and drink a lot. And not really 'because they are in China' or 'because they are foreigners' but simply because they are young excited people.

I can't opinate in this field......

The only reason I came to China was because I'm a loser who couldn't find either work, or women in my own country. I also knew that if I came here, I could sleep with a different girl every night and no longer need to worry about all the crazed and diseased degenerates on Craigslist.

On days when I can't shag a new carpet (Chinese girls don't shave), I feel very depressed. Fortunately, I can make up for it by going to clubs and finding 3 or more girls per week. Additionally, I've knocked up at least 150 girls and had their parents complain, but I just slept with both of their parents and they shut up. I left a huge string of single mothers and broken families across China, and 2 or 3 in Japan (it was a 12 hour layover).

I have ravenously spread disease and filth throughout every province of China, and I continue to do it all while drunk out of my mind and hopped up on crack cocaine.

I bought the drugs from Joseph Kony and his African Warlord brothers at the local club, and he even gave me a free trashbag full of weed. Every single day, I smoke at least four whole marijuanas. I support my drug habit by showing up to school every day, and I shoot up in class while they all watch Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Oh, and I sleep with all the students too. Even the guys when I get desperate enough...

I love China.

BTW: Point of order, foreigners are here to drink AND chase after Chinese women.
