Many thanks. Planning some sort of tailgate party tonight. Got a local butcher to get me some pork chops, also a few corn ears, and potatoes to bake.
And late tonight will be pay back time, I bought about 500 yuan worth of fireworks, and do plan to fire them all.
Happy 4th. Dreaming of American BBQ, like homemade brats, burgers, guacamole & chips, cole slaw, potato salad, brownies and much more....
Family and good food...looking forward to to the food. 
Bought a smoker just for this occasion. About 10 minutes ago I put in a biscuit and a pork shoulder in the smoker, should be ready in about 11-12 hours. I am sure the smell will be driving me crazy all day. Can't wait to get started on my homemade BBQ sauce.
And the really cool thing is that my neighborhood has a 4th of July block party every year. Looking forward to the beer, BBQ & fireworks. Happy 4th all!
My husband, who has stayed indoors since no more classes on the end of last month, to whom, I said might turn into a cave man, told me this morning, that he would go shopping for a flat pad computer, and we did. After nearly 2 or 3 hours' lingering and checking of the ones that caught his eyes, I was ultimately exhausted with a dry mouth and a noising stomach and bothered by more translating on the computer terminologies involved, thanks to him, finally decision was made to buy a Chinese brand, he has got so far 3 laptops , one desktop, one pad and the coming second pad, we finally finished shopping for the pad, when I was ready to step out of the GOME electronics, he paused in front of the e-dictionary section trying to buy me one, I dragged him away....then he stopped at a IPhone counter checking one of them for my daughter, I push him towards the door.....My sweetness.. what happens to you today? on the way back home in a car, he asked me" do you know what day today is?" "errrrr...er.... July the 4th, aahhhahh, it is the independence day!!!!!" " cheers to today, with more computers...."

It is great to have new adventures, meet new friends, share new experiences, and all that good stuff about being an expat, but, never forget where you come from, or the price it costs to be free. Happy 4th all! Enjoy the Day.
