Q: almost got knocked off my mountain bike this morning

I was riding to work this morning and this Chinese guy on an electric bike came out from behind a car and nearly knocked me off my bike.

the thing is he saw me and he rode at me I slammed on my breaks and almost went over the handle bars.but the thing is the guy new what he was doing like it was done on purpose.

he only rode up the road a bit to where the other electric bikes were I turned around and went up to him and gave him shit.he didnt give a crap.if he had of knocked me off my bike he would have rode off and I am very sure that no one would have helped.

if you ride a bike just be careful because no one gives a crap.

Don't Chinese respect traffic rules? and things?angel

Me, walking only in China. Will unpack my race bike on my return to Kaifeng, buTT...I'll be looking for very, very wide road, similar to A1A or US1 for spin. Meiyou city.

I bet, I'll live (past) 100, so got to be careful.

Should not be surprised if spent any time here.  Typical selfish behavior

Chinese young people may tease me about my 3 wheel e-bike, but this is exactly the reason why I bought it.  You said it best. They don't give a crap.

I find the roads here a doddle, annoying as hell but not in the least dangerous, the reason being that nobody in town (in Guangxi at least) drives over twenty miles an hour. If they did it would be a blood bath.

This is why I'll never bother to try driving in this country.. unless I'm rich enough to buy a vehicle that I wouldn't worry about getting smashed up - or good enough for others to worry about smashing up.

Also, I'd be carrying a nail-gun - to teach the locals patience (and to take revenge). You do something incredibly stupid and selfish (eg, the OP's situation), you can spend the next hour waiting to get some of your tyres replaced Laughing out loud

Tell me about it!  I ride practically every day and how I'm still alive after so long I'll never know...it's a bloody miracle!

And get this for stupidity....I wear a bicycle helmet when I ride the 15k along the highway to the village where I work every day but don't bother to wear it when riding around the city.  What an idiot!

Get a helmet, Rob.

Locals drive like they are half brain dead, there is no doubt about that. I drive very carefully because I am always worried some idiot is going to slingshot from an opening right in front of me and 30% of the time, they do.

At least fewer and fewer cars are going through red lights. The only ones that usually do are Ebikes and those assholes that think they own the road cause they drive a Benz or something.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
