Q: Am I missing something? Chinese movie theaters...

So, um... this is my first time ever visiting any theater in the past several years. I've never experienced 3D in any theater, but tonight I went with a friend to see Man of Steel.

We also had those really annoying chairs. They shake you around, move back and forth, punch you in the back, play with your feet (WTF?) spit water on your face, blow bubbles, and blow air in your face. That was the incredibly annoying part. The chairs would also rumble and make annoying sounds for the entire duration of the movie. It would rumble during really weird and strange parts.

What the FORK is going on here? Is this the new world-wide standard for "immersive" 3D movie theaters or something? Or is it just limited to China? 'cause I forking hated everything about that.

I'm pretty sure it ruined "Man of Steel" for me. I will forever associate the movie with being spit on, having bubbles blown in my face, being knocked around like a rag roll. Not to mention listening to people talk to each other and play with/chat on their phones while I'm trying to focus on the movie...

The times I've been to the cinema in China it's been normal 3D movies, just goggles. Of course the chair would shake (getting kicked) everything would rumble (the street food) and you would at occasions get mist or water on your face (spit)

All in all, the cinemas I've been to have been pretty normal. Maybe all the extra stuff is good to try and keep people quiet. I would just get annoyed with having my cola go glat due to the shaking about.

As for the 3D effect, I saw Iron Man 3, and I honestly don't think the 3D effect does anything good to that movie, the best 3D cinema experience I have had so far was also one of the first, Ice Age 3D.

Hulk:

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the "extra" effects. I also didn't see anything pop out on screen while watching Man of Steel (except 2 or 3 things). I did have increased depth perception, though.

I didn't really enjoy the movie. Those chairs were highly annoying. If they're like that back home in 'murica, I'd prefer to avoid them.

I saw TinTin in China. Thought the 3D was done well in the movie.

Hulk:

Well this is more about those rowdy chairs than the 3D part.

LOL!! Yeah I watched that movie too. Although the only similarities that I noticed were people behind me talking nearly 70% throughout the entire movie. The only part the audience was dead silent was that part when Superman was flying around and he was being chased by the bad guys....Drunk

He he, I said: "audience"!

I've only ever experienced that in the States when I was visiting friends a few years ago.  Never had it before in China, would love to see a horror movie in a theater like that though, complete with artificial blood splattering everywhere!

I had that experience at games center, We watched a few minutes horror movie, experienced all the things you mentioned, and what worried me most was the sanitation of the water they were spitting on our faces. They said it was 4D not 3D! Otherwise I have watched 3D movies many times, mostly at WANDA cinema and my experience wasn't that bad after all.

I think what you have experienced is a 4D movie. That's the current big thing in movie theaters around the world now

Hulk:

Yeah, color me annoyed. I think I'll stay away from the 4D "experience" in the future.

Seeing as I only go to the movies to bring a date, the plethora of 3D is a catastrophe for me. Goggles are to kissing what no goggles is to swimming

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
