Q: Americans in China, Setup Equifax 1 year protection.

Hi my fellow Americans.

As usual here we are again failed by our great technology country. Judgment day? Well it might as well be!

Now what can you do?

Well the first thing to do is to stop, listen and understand that 50% of Americans or more have been hacked, you must assume you and me have had our information stolen, will it be used? Who knows. But whats important to understand is that a year later, or even 20 years later, you're information is still out there, your SSN, your credit info, bank info and more. This is not gonna go away, would you believe if I told you that this is worse than hurricane Irma? Well it is.

Now steps to take:

1. Go to Equifax and apply for their 1 year protection, after one year I recommend paying for fraud alert service and like you I hate to pay bills on sh*t like this, but what choice do we have? Our country failed us again.

2. Don't freeze your credit, if you do you can't buy a house or get a car loan or school loan, it cost money and a big part of your life is frozen.

3. Go online to your bank pages and sign up for fraud alerts and your credit cards too, I just finished.

4. No choice, gotta keep an eye on your emails, texts, accounts.

5. OMG, I can't believe this, your money is now far much more SAFER in China, than America! (I can't get the F**k over this.)

While many of use probably won't be affected now or tomorrow we still have to watch and monitor our accounts activity.

To all of my fellow Americans, I am like you, so very ashamed of our great nation and what they have allowed to happen.

Does the name Eric Snowden suddenly come to your mind? mmmm!

Ah, the land of the free telling us how great things are...

In Oz, we don't have a social security number that gets used for basically everything... meaning, for many things, whomever is trying to trace us needs to do a bit more work!

When I tried to register my website on a US server, they not only wanted my CC for payment - but also my ID, and a photo of me, my ID and my CC...

After I ignored that pile of BS, I went to an Australian server to host my site... what did they want? Just my CC number and name.... like, you know, like for ALL credit card payments!

Big Brother is not Australian.....

I wonder what happens to me, I was the paranoid asshole that only used one secured credit card backed by a savings account for plane ticket purchases only and paid cash for cars, houses, horses and a small plane years ago. My x-wives used credit like sugar in coffee, all the time, i was not so much against credit as I was the paper trail of watching me and my habits that I disagreed with.

Home depot in Atlanta hired me for the accounting fraud background and a group of hackers to see how secure their own credit card accounts were in 2004. We broke in and stole all the credit card numbers in 4 hours, They spent 7 million trying to secure the accounts and had to start all over again. This problem has been around for years.

I find out Chinese travel agency will take cash in America for plane tickets with my second wife, so I cancelled the secured card to buy plane tickets after arriving in China and it did not work to put ten dollars on a skype account. I used business credit card frequently but the business was sold.

If you a computer geek, you could be making some major money working for Equifax competitors right now. In Japan, so many people have the same name, biometrics is the only option, this may have to be used for credit cards in America.

So Equifax sells a service but they also volunteer info to 'help' you. That info they gives you scares you into buying their service.

The credit reporting agencies are running an extortion racket. If you find sth on your credit report that is fraudulent, you go to the police, report it, and then go to the reporting agencies requesting they remove it from your credit. But they drag their feet taking up to over 10 years. But if you sign up to my 'xyz fraud program....

Exactly how is the government to blame? It's privately run. Americans are too fucking stupid. They don't want the govt to run or tightly regulate an industry then they blame the govt for the corporate greed run amuck in that industry.

Americans choose the leaders, information is not banned, education is free, if the govt sucks it's the people's fault. Arguing over whether Steve can marry Bob or whether Tina should be allowed to abort her baby.. those things are more important.

A suggestion, be sure to read the fine print for this 'Protection' which currently states you are giving up the right to be part of a class action suit. When challenged on this point, Equifax has recently publicly stated they won't strictly enforce this stipulation. However, I rate this as the same as a Junkies or Chinese promise. Caveat emptor.

'Pump .... & dump'

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-09-13/massive-equifax-hack-shows-cybe...

Last week 143 million people woke up to the news that a data breach at Equifax has left them wide open to financial and identity fraud.

Readers will have no doubt read about the hacking of credit bureau Equifax. Not only were they slow to deal with the issue but three senior executives (including the CFO) sold almost $2 million worth of stock prior to alerting customers to the security breach.

This is the third time in sixteen months that Equifax has been hacked. It is the umpteenth time there has been a data breach at a company that holds financial and personal information of its customers. Each time millions of people’s data and livelihoods has been put at risk.

‘Have no doubt: This means you will be hacked. This means your SIM card will be spoofed. This means someone will try to get into your email and online accounts. This means someone will try to open a credit card in your name.’ John Biggs, Tech Crunch.

Equifax is yet another example of incompetence on the part of data-heavy company, with little recourse for customers affected.

Cyberattacks are continuously evolving into incidents that are relentless and unforgiving. In the last 25 years the sophistication of hackers’ tools has improved.

This recent attack puts the Yahoo breaches of 2014 and 2015 in a rather dim light in comparison to the harm caused by Equifax hackers.

2017 has almost proved to be a coming of age year for hackers. So far this year we have already had the biggest ransomware outbreak that saw data breaches at the NHS, FedEx, Telefonica and Deutsche Bahn.

It is now inevitable that something like this goes on and that we are no longer surprised by it. Why is it happening and what can we do about it?
