I did once buy shares in China. I thought I was getting myself a little island in the East China Sea. Turns out though, the island actually belonged to Japan. Bugger, duped again!

Well as a foreigner you're not allowed. If you want to buy shares on the stock markets you need to have someone Chinese set up an account for you, in their name. But since the market just dropped 7%, it's maybe not the most stable the market's been and might be worth waiting a bit to see what happens.

There are various problems with Chinese stock market. Not well regulated, pump n dumps, shorting ect. I'm sure pots of shares aren t legitimate either. So a Chinese person was telling me. Good thing about bring in China. You don't need to get up early to play lse shares

Wouldn't here even if we were allowed to as foreigners, the Chinese stock market is not well regulated. I did buy some in HK, notably that chain of clothing shops https://www.bauhaus.com.hk/ is listed at the stock market, it belongs to a friend of mine and is very successful as of now, I made good profits from it, yes the name comes from the German architect.
