Q: Anybody know of some International Firearms ranges in Southern China?

Hey guys, A buddy just clued me into the existance of an international "shooting range" in Beijing. You can rent a plethora of firearms, pay for the ammo and shoot it.

With China's stance on private gun ownership ,Who knew such a thing exisited? I checked it out online and it seems to be legitimate. Anyone hear about this? Anybody been there?

Anyway, being a firearms enthusiast, anyone know of a similar deal down Guangdong way?. I really dislike Beijing , and try to fly out the same day after meetings. Too close to the sphere of "gummit" influence for my comfort. Beijing is like being in Mordor with that big yellow and black feral eye looking at you!

Please dont post about wimpy 'Paintball" in HK. I'm talking about  some real Texas style shooting with a "real" firearm.

I haven't heard of any outside of military & police ranges.  I have been trying to get one of my buddies to get me an invite to the GZ military Hogan's Alley, but so far no luck.  If you hear about one, let me know.  It has been way too long since I squezed off a few rounds.

Glocks are nice and easy to shoot, simple never fail. But I just hate those plastic guns.."tactical tupperware". I guess I'mjust too old, and stuck in the concept of an actual 'shootin iron" However with that said, I saw a glock and some steel pistols once that fell into a campfire...ewwww, it was awful! The steel pistols cleaned up nice. The glock was toast.....history!

I liked the PPK because of it s comfortable to carry size and that it is rather hard to shoot accurately. I loved practicing with my ppk and then switch to my sig, as the marksmanship went up admirably.

Gun Slinger, I don't know what part of GZ you are in, but if you are in Panyu, I would be more than happy to share a few beers at the Taver Bar.  However, I will only be in GZ for about another 10 days.  Then I head back to Wuhan for a few months.

Old_Gunslinger:

Hi Xpat John, Im being picked up Saturday by a limo for a card game "Texas hold em" with a bunch of crazy Aussies and Euro dudes. Id much rather meet you for a beer or two. PM me with the exact address for the bar, and I will PM you and we can meet. Id love it!

ppk's great firearm, Bond's fav. Hey a lotta great deals on old commie arms out there.

CZ-82's- 12 round stacked mags. And the P-64 (6 rounds, fits in your hand), with holsters, cleaning kits, extra mags, both com block pistols easily had and mailed to your house providing you have an FFL. All steel weapons, polygonal rifled barrels, all for less than 200 USD. Yowza ., Yowza!

Remind me to tell ya all  the story about when I showed up at the Chinese police station drunk as a skunk demanding a concealed carry permit (I even showed em mine from the US). They threw me out.

I came back a few weeks later (sober) and we had a nice chat. Still didnt get it, but I think Im wearing em down Smile

I dont understand the thing with guns is it really exciting, what makes you want to use them,a real genuine question is it sportsmanship or the danger

crimochina:

i havent fired one but i've seen one fired from close range. i've been wanting to fire one for a long time since seeing the power but the damn laws in NJ are against law abiding citizens owning guns. try it for yourself and see

Its a second amendment thing. I grew up with them in a  family of military veterans, became proficient, hunted when I was younger and put alot of game on the table. I have a concealed carry permit in the States and an FFL (Federal Firearms License), and collect the things. I like old military guns used in wars. 45's, 9mm's, SKS, AK's, Mausers etc. I buy them re arsenalled by armory's from all over the world.

Its a skill. Some people shoot little balls into pockets on a felt covered table (pool), others hit a ball and walk after it (golf), I like to punch holes in paper or buckets at 1000 meters, or do some fancy shooting on a short (15-20 meter)  pistol range. Its a useful hobby.
