Yes, today Yahoo wouldn't load in Kaifeng, but 'Y! mail' open without any problems.

My Internet connection sucks too, so I'm not really sure what's the cause for 'no loading'.

Chinese Government trying to hide the news about Hong Kong protests. That's the cause.

That's not true! Yahoo was in some glitch yesterday. All foreign (USA, UK) websites reporting from HK weren't blocked.

Today Yahoo works normal again!

Go to www.sports.yahoo.com and then you can use the search bar again. It's a back door. The front page can't be used.

That's blast! It works from 'Y! mail' back to 'home' too!

Sounds good, then all we need to do is use the background method.

The Hong Kong protests are getting the Chinese government to block almost every contact with the outside these days.

On a different note, I just read about some issues with Youtube and Facebook because of the Xinjiang situation, apparently we can forget about any chances of getting these sites available in China anytime soon.

'We're experiencing some technical difficulties...

We’re sorry, but Yahoo Mail can't load due to a temporary error. You can try back again shortly, or visit our help pages for ways to troubleshoot the issue.

Temporary error: 14'......message at 'Y! mail' at 6pm

It doesn't want to load mail not even from Iron's sports link anymore.

I had some difficulty with yahoo yesterday.   Also I have difficulties in general, whenever the articles are related to China..

Plenty of trouble with all sorts of websites, but never with Yahoo or Yahoo Mail.  Most news stories about students' extracurricular activities in Hong Kong also load just fine from Yahoo's front page.  If the link is to one of the usual suspects, then no.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
