I have been offered an ESL job at a high school in Weifang by Abby from Henry ESL.
Sounds like a fishy outfit. Wondering if anyone out there has heard of or has any
comments to offer.

I have 3 or 4 excellent agents, which I would recommend.
If anybody care for, PM me.
Yes, I have Skype contact with Henry ESL (henry).
I asked him about position at Public School last week, and he replied his assistant told him I'm too picky.
As we chat further, I assured him only 'picky-ness' I have is 'I don't work for Training mills full-time' (RPermit sponsor).
He replied, he doesn't have open position at the Public School.
If you accept position (with any agent), ask for the Contract. Then, take few days and study the Contract. Ask million Qs about everything, before you sign Contract.
I usually find out:
- salary and how many teaching hours required;
- make sure about 'teaching hour' (45') or 'full hour (60');
- at Public School is important, how many salaries you'll receive in 1-year Contract (salary during 3 months recess);
- return flight refund
- apartment (size, distance from School, who pays utilities).
'See PM for few good agents!'
I have been in contact with Abby myself too. To be honest, she is a nice girl. I mean it, but unfortunately she is a Chinese and follows the instruction the agency she is working for. It's not her the problem but what icnif77 mentions that they offer training schools and the stories about it abund in how negative they are. Public schools are a fit better than a training one, at least to myself. However, the payments are up to 7000 RMB.
Why is it fishy? Could you tell us?
I got an offer from them for a HS in Guiyang with an apartment the size if a shoebox. When I asked about help findibg an apartment/housing stipend, tge response I got was 'we dont do that, because an apartment is offered.'
I have in recent months applied for several positions through this agent. Not all, of any turned out to be what was advertised. They advertised 3 positions included 1 University, and 2 public schools. It later materialised they were all training schools, ages ranging from 1-3 years, 3-6 years more like child care and creche. I also made a few applications for positions advertised in Wuhan but received offers from everywhere but. Most of these agents are a nightmare.
