Q: Anyone know about marriage visas?

With all the visa questions floating around at the moment it made me wonder about this.    If you get caught working on a marriage visa what happens?  They can't seriously throw you out of the country if you wife is Chinese can they?  Would they actually separate you?  Anybody REALLY know what happens? No guesses please.

Im just asking, Im not married or planning to marry, haha

In China, there is no such thing as a marriage visa.  Now, you may have a tourist (L) visa and a residence permit due to being married to a local.  But even that is not sifficient to legally work in China, even if you do not get payment for your services.  The only way to legally do it is by having a work (Z) visa, and within 30 days after entering China, and prior to start working, finish your FEC, and obtain your work a nd residence permits after passing the physical exam.

If you are caught working illegally, even if married to a Chinese, you will face monetary fines, jail time and deportation at present time.

Now, if you marry the daughter of a high official, you can do as you please, and ignore the law, as they do.

Where can I find daughters of high officals, I want a wife, then maybe take over the country. Do they give government grants here to start things.

Appeal to Chinese Government:

China should have a policy of Spouse visa, which is very important aspect of immigration but sofar the spouses of the Chinese nationals are still struggling for their visas and employment status in China.
China should design the immigration policy for  spouses to stay and work in China, actually China is the only country in the world which has no policy for spouse Visa.

Yes, they WILL deport you, and if your government does not give your wife a visa, then you will have to find a third country to move to.

Marriage is not a passport to guarantee residence in China. You can  be refused a visa at any time. Because you are married, with or without children, hold employment, own [lease] an apartment or have a successful business, you can be deported at any time for what officials or the PSB decide is wrong doing. It will vary from locations to location. In China take nothing for granted.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
