Zhu ni sheng ri kuai le.... you know how the rest of the song goes, it's usually accompanied by nicely decorated but otherwise bland, awful birthday cake.

Respect.

Whatever about people who choose to join the army now, those who were conscripted, especially for the aforementioned wars and then were subsequently killed, often in horrific circumstances, deserve to be remembered.

they traveled thousands of miles to fight in wars they were only part of by virtue of being in the Empire.

putting an emoji to express thoughts on this would be just wrong.

Soldiers of western countries don't get the respect they deserve, over the last 100+ years they bled for the lives of others (in different countries). South Korea exists today because of western soldiers. China is not under Japanese rule because of western soldiers. Taiwanese live freely because of the threat of western soldiers.

Look at Nigeria with Boko Haram, the men in that country are pathetic, they do nothing while their women and children are raped and terrorized by a small number of animals. They want western soldiers to come in and fight their battle fr them.

I don't know much about the Boers but I think they basically were just farmers picking up their guns and going out to defend their farms against the Brits ( and Anzacs).

Hahaha Those Dutch farmers then lol The 2nd Boer war was from 1899 to 1902 . It was a funny time for Australia as we started the war as a colony and finished it as a federated Nation. Both Australia and New Zealand sent troops there. Yeah I know ....it is sad I read about history all the time.

No ANZACs... it was basically our units, and their units, and we fought with/for the Brits.

The ANZAC - Australian and New Zealand Army Corps wasn't established until 1946 - well after the Boer War.

ANZAC day now commemorates ALL Australians who fought in ALL wars (even before Australia had its own constitution...)

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
