Q: Are any of those teacher recruiters actually foreigners?

Hi all

I've been searching for job in China for couple weeks now, and I'm applying for teacher jobs too, since there are so many of those.

So I was wondering - are there some of those recruiters, who are actually foreigners? Or all of them are Chinese usually? Cause I've been contacted by a few now and, you know, it's a bit hard to communicate, and they just don't seem trustworthy. Its not like I expected anything else, but still.

If you a from a small country such as Sealand, then pretty much everyone is a foreigner. Everyone outside of your moms basement is probably a foreigner. If you dont want to deal with foreigners your best bet would probably be to stay at home.

A) yes.

B) doesn't actually mean they're any more trustworthy!

Always know that a recruiter is taking money somehow, which usually means from your monthly pay. Therefore, much better just to go direct to the training centres yourself (they pay best... crappy job, but you can get 12K or more).

There are a dozen foreigner recruiters in Beijing alone and maybe 50 working from their PC back home.  And they will screw you as much as any Chinese so be careful, follow the law, and read your contract c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y.

This is another one of those questions I think really could use some more characterization and vivid imagery

"Never deal with any but your own kind!" my father shouted as the pityless sea lion dragged him down to a watery grave. I whispered back, "I will make you proud, father" and sullenly walked back to camp.

I didn't understand the true significance of my father's words until much later. By then I was looking for a job in China...but I knew I had to keep faith with the vow I made to my father so many years ago.  So truly, are these recruiters of our kind? Can they be trusted?

As is your question lacks depth. Why is it important that the recruiter be a foreigner? What is your motivation. I give this question 2 out of 5 stars. DIe hard fans of the recruiter scam genre might find something of interest here but most casual forum browsers should look elsewhere.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
