People are always going on about how Chinese, as opposed to Westerners, are a collective society, and we're the selfish individualistic ones. But from what I've observed, Chinese are anything but a collective society. They place great weight on the family, yes, but society? I call BS.
I heard the exact same thing!! how weird is that. At uni the teacher insisted that China was the best country in the world etc. all because us foreigners are selfish individuals and they're a collective society.
But I 110% agree with you. Chinese can be lovely to their family and friends, and then absolute d*ckheads to people they dont know. I dont get it, how can they be so rude to people just because they are strangers?
They treat their immediate families and friends like gold but when they get outside....... it's "heads down and piss in public".
