Q: are gaming consoles readily available in China?

I am over 60      but want to try one of these things....  golf?  maybe old mario kart stuff. any suggestions? table games?

Yeah, you can get them. I would suggest trying to go to less than reputable looking places...but like the most reputable looking of those shady places if you catch my drift. Why? Well, unless you can make it to Hong Kong or somewhere else, they actually sell different versions of certain games and many systems are also regionally locked.

I had an old Playstation2  for a while (ended up giving it away when I moved) and Tiger Woods golf was one of my favorite games.

 

Sometimes I'll see a modern PS or X box or in a shop and the games are way cooler than when I last played one, I sometimes toy with the idea of buying one but have no idea what I'd get.

 

I don't know how it works now - used to be your machine had to have a chip installed to play the pirated games, which were all that were available in the markets. They were cheap though.

Do not buy the the Chinese version, overpriced and and software is restricted. Go to HK
