I've been feeling the itch to move to Taiwan. Just give it all up here and start fresh after 11 years in China.

Stiggs:

I have two friends who did that.

They both had a lot of experience teaching on the mainland and landed great jobs in Taiwan as a result.

You'd be starting fresh, but the good part is that it wouldn't be like moving to Korea or Japan or wherever where you'd need to start from scratch learning a new language again. You'd arrive with 11 years of experience using Chinese to get around.

First place I ever went in the Orient was Taipei.  Worked a diving job at a nuclear power plant there.  Contract work, American company.  Upgraded the assembly that holds spent fuel rods.  Interesting job.   But years ago,,,, never went back,,,, yet.
