Q: Are the Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou job fairs worth going to?

Anyone been to the job fairs in Shanghai, Beijing or Guangzhou? Is it mostly teaching and finance jobs?

Are companies actually looking to recruit or just promoting their stuff?

Yes, and it's a good opportinuity to do something else other than teach. Take two different resumes though. The western detailed resume and the Chinese only main details thats short and sweet to read because we're to lazy to read a detailed qualified applicants resume

It is a good place to go to just meet new people and get some contacts. Last one I went to there were actually some people trying to recruit some students to go to school in Canada. I'm not sure if they knew where they were. That's a canadian for you! I won't say the word but you know what it is it starts with an i and ends in a t.
