A:Mars One is at best a pipe dream, at worst a scam. The team behind Mars One showed more than once a very poor understanding of the challenge they want to take. Landing a car-sized buggy was already a major achievement (check for the landing procedure of the Curiosity probe), at the edge of what can be done today. It took a few billions dollars to achieve. They have no answers for all the engineering challenges to address. Four Chinese as Mars One candidate... I would bet on the Chinese Space Program, they are far more competent (it's mostly a PLA-only program). Just the cost to put in Earth low orbit all the fuel and supplies is mind-blowing, nevermind landing all that on Mars. -- DrMonkey
