Q: Are there any teaching jobs in the Shangrao, Jiangxi Provinc that pay more then 20,000 RMB?

This is probably more of a pipe dream then anything else. I know Beijing has lots of teaching jobs that offer even more than that. I also know Beijing is bigger and that is one of the reasons. Mainly I am looking for a smaller place with the same pay. Does that even exist?

You'd be lucky to get 10,000 RMB a month in a city as small as that.

To be honest, if as you say in your pervious questions that you are unsure about your long-term plans, don't even have a basic teaching qualification and have an 'American' 5 year old and snake in tow, I suggest you think of another career.

indecision

I currently have a Bachelor's in Math, and will have my MAT: Special Education in June 2016. By June I will also have 2 years teaching experience in a high school setting. I don't have a TEFL/TESOL/CELTA, but I figured I could knock that out in the summer if we do decide to make the move.

It sounds like you also have a doctorate in Arrogant Dunning-Krueger Twonk.

Get a grip dude. You are intending upon joining the most disposable group of expats in China and appear to possess some delusions of grandeur. Your mom may tell you that you're special but in this neck of the woods no one gives a shit.

Get with the program and make your stay enjoyable and not be another of the fresh off the boat frustrated overlooked genius type. For your first gig you aren't likely to score a fat salary and will probably get screwed over.

Yes , there are actually 30 ESL jobs that pay 40k a month to teach at a Flight Attendant school. And they encourage foreign teachers to give private lessons late at night to students one on one in the 5 star hotel room they provide for free with an open mini bar.

You can make that, or more or less, teaching math. Teach calculus and precalc and stats if you want to make that kind of money. Doesn't hurt if you can teach physics, too. Depends on if that city has an international high school.

The snake ... I dunno.

icnif77:

I had offer to teach Pre-calculus on International School in Kaifeng for 8k/15 classes/week.

After I told them pay isn't high enough, because of the 'subject teacher', School changed Contract to 'Oral English teacher' with same pay.

Zhengzhou Public school has an advert for math/physics FT for 12k/18 classes/week.

With a bachelor's in math, a MAT pending, and two years teaching HS in the US, there's no need to go to Zhengzhou for 12/k per month. No way.

Hey OP, look at other websites, not just here, and realize that icnif77 is probably unqualified to teach math, and not a legal teacher as far as SAFEA is concerned. That's why he gets crap contracts in crap cities.

Do a Google search if you can. You likely missed the spring term hiring, but there's always next term.

Your writing BS, again!

How do you know, I'm unqualified to teach Math or unqualified to teach in China?

I refused Precalculus offer, because I'm not Math teacher (ethical issue....Valerie!), and students English level was too low, so I saw too much work in my future, if I wanted 10-graders would understand my lecture in English.

I'm on RP since 2010 as Non-native English teacher. How's your Native English ice-cream?

For that Pre-Calculus offer, I opened thread here with job offer vacancy. Few posters here got all info about the city, campus, housing and School's contact details.

Remember Fukang, Xinjiang? You never said 'Thank you' for detailed city's and vacant job description.

'buTT...I was looking for an indoor gym....'

Moron! Every city in Xinjiang should have an indoor gym for 'mercian FT....

Is it true, Yanks never greet, when they enter closed space with people present in? Gypsies behave the same, but they mostly live in tents.

That 'treat' is called 'manners' in language you teach in China. BuTT.... you know that, 'cause you're Native English teacher.

'Whatever SAFEA is concerned' ....what a load of crap.

Who else among posters here is almost in permanent contact with SAFEA?

Who posted 'SAFEA's contact details' thread?

Did I ever 'gloat' at my SAFEA experience posts?

You can know, city is crap only if you lived there. You didn't live in Henan and elsewhere I was, so how can you tell 'I get crap cities'? I choose city, by signing a Contract, and I was happy in any city I lived in China. You're dealing with happy person here!

Were you by any chance always dissatisfied, when you received gift as a kid?

Did you ever ask yourself, what this Board got out of your posts? See mirror!

'Just please, don't say anything bad about U-SS-A. That hurts, even if true and anonymous.'

'We Almost Lost Detroit' by Gill Scott-Heron .... I love this song... 'how we gonna get over loosing our minds.....'

Listen Cohen's 'First We Take Manhattan ....then we take Berlin'.....

I took both (I'm sorry, to all involved!) in real life, just for your next time, you decide to spew moronic replies at my handle.

At first moment you'd see me in real life, you'd be quickly looking for my shade.

Right, you're 'not a math teacher' and you're a 'non-native English teacher', like I said.

Thanks for confirming.

A licensed, qualified math teacher can do much better than that 12k offer. That is a fact.

blah blah blah Americans and stuff ... seriously it's like you're on drugs.

Icnif, if you think that the NSA isn't calling the shots at SAFEA than you are too naive and trusting.

You honestly believe that when the NSA demands their 'pound-of-flesh' from SAFEA that they won't hand you over for their '30 pieces of NSA silver'?

If you're lucky they'll let you take the vows and spend the rest of your life as a man of the China Scam Watch but if not...I shudder to think

Address and contact numbers of SAFEA in every Province in China have been given (by me) here.

Enter 'SAFEA' in search above......

.... and 'grow a pair' to get help of Chinese Government to retrieve your salary or any other employers Contract disrespect.

Yeah but SAFEA won't show you the same loyalty...you'll be handed over by the end of the week most likely. Taken to a joint NSA/SAFEA camp and if lucky allowed to join the CSW

Better toughen up because I think right now you wouldn't last a DAY with the China Scam Watch. Those guys are real tough hombres and you'll struggle to fit in.

If you're truly looking for higher pay, then you'll want to teach IB (major cities) or AP. Unless you're a fully qualified and certified teacher, you won't be eligible for the 'truly' foreign schools that pay around 28K a month.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
