Are you in this situation?
You are married, but you still love someone who you once with in your life. It's a beautiful but painful memory. It's your little secret which you will never tell your wife/husband.
Vicky, the difference is in most places outside of China there's no "my country's food." People regularly eat food that originated from all over the world. It's really annoying when people make ridiculous generalizations like "Americans eat hamburgers so that is American food." My family lives in a small town of around 20,000 people and in that town there is an Indian restaurant, two Thai restaurants, 3 Chinese restaurants, 2 Japanese restaurants, several pizza/pasta Italian type restaurants, a British pub, an Irish pub, a Greek restaurant, several seafood restaurants, a vegan restaurant, and a Jamaican style BBQ restaurant just to name a few. There are multiple supermarkets selling foods from all over the world. Oh yea, there are also places serving primarily hamburgers and fries or "American food" if that's what you want to call it. It's not like like in China where people categorize Chinese food versus foreign food. When I go to the Indian restaurant or buy hummus at the local supermarket, I'm not thinking about where it originated from. I'm just used to eating a diverse diet. So no, I never get tired of "my country's" cuisine because there's really no such thing.
Scandinavian:
That is exactly what I would have answered. Although I would have included a swing at TCM, which is always a good idea when talking about food in China !
Yeah this chick just keeps posting her unrelated crap in these forums once or twice a week.
Yep foreigners tend to be discreet about it, unlike Chinese men bragging about their mistresses right in front of their wife.
your situation is what every cheating man tells their mistress. it usually isn't true, though. men don't cheat because they're itching to be with a "better" wife, it's out of curiosity. nothing more.
Chinese men, on the other hand, will often feel compelled to switch partners if they're found out. otherwise, xiao sans would be wasting their time. were you somebody's xiaosan?
And this has what to do with foreigners in China? Are you on the right forum? There must be other forums for weird questions like this. Go find one.
No. My wife is the only woman I've ever loved. The rest were toys... sorry.
But I do have a stalker from Hong Kong who threatened to hurt my family. Does that count?
I don't know why women keep trying to interfere with our family, or why married women keep coming after me, but please stahp. STAHP.
Scandinavian:
.... Yo mamma would be sorry to read this. I imagine green tears flowing.
Strawberry66:
Why?Because you keep firlting around with women. You also asked me to have sex vedio with you several month ago, instead I just kicked you out from my skype.
Hulk:
I don't flirt around with women. This one was really psycho, and I never tried anything with her, lollerskates.
And lol, Vicky, if you thought I was serious, I don't know what to say. My wife thought it was hilarious.
Strawberry66:
And you told you only interested in talking sex with women. Also you sent your dick photo to me on skype.Lol...You are so gross, married man.
Hulk:
That wasn't a dick picture. It was a random picture I found on google image search.
We did that to see how long it took you to delete me.
Are you in this situation VIcky ? are you Xiao san ?
Strawberry66:
Just a throught.I guess a person could fall in love with many people in his/her life even he/she is marrying with someone. But they may not have affair when they are married even they fall for other people.
I'm not one to judge, but I do sympathize, having had a similar situation long ago.
I had two dogs; a cute, little Venezuelan Bulldog, whose name was Greta, and the other was a Fuji Elkhound named Nammy. Greta and Nammy went everywhere with me, and then, one day, while we were walking in the countryside, Nammy fell into a well. It was so deep, we couldn't get Nammy out, and because she was big-boned, she became wedged tightly at the bottom of the well. I told Greta to run and fetch the local magistrate to come and help.
"Woof! Woof!" I told her!
"Wei! Wei!" she replied (which is Venezuelan for "okay." With that, off she ran to the nearby town. I was alone as the pitiful sounds of Nammy's cry came echoing out of that horrid hole!
"Woof! Woof! Ruff!" I cried in support.
Just at that moment, the air started to shiver and sparkle! Lo and behold! A Fairy Godmother appeared and asked what the matter was! I quickly told her the situation, and with a "Hey Presto and Kazaam," she waved her wand and up floated Nammy, but...it wasn't Nammy at all! It was the most adorable Tabby Persian feline that one had ever laid eyes on. The FG disappeared, and when Greta arrived with the Magistrate, we celebrated our good fortune to be visited by such a wise lady.
Yes, it was a bittersweet moment, but a fitting end to such a traumatic event! So, to make a long story short, I do understand where you are coming from!
a change is as good as a holiday
in other words yes
who wants to eat the same thing day in day out
besides its good to change things up
just because you are Chinese doesn't mean you can't try new things
Like German Sausage for example
better than Burger king every day
I eat Chinese food most days, cooked by my wife & at weekends we also eat out at Chinese restaurants. So I occasionally get cravings for "comfort food" from the West. Weekend mornings I have bacon sandwiches for breakfast (real back bacon, not the Chinese excuse for western bacon!)
Tonight I've been for a sauna with my wife, she's gone for Cantonese food with a friend. I've sneaked off & am in a brew pub.....pint of great Guangzhou brewed Stout in front of me while waiting for my pizza & home made thick cut chips (French fries!). Though the fries have just arrived & they're frozen thick cut fries....hope the pizza is better!

I like Chinese food, especially 麻辣的 Chongqing or Sichuan cousine. But I also enjoy (at least twice or thrice a month) relatively OK German food in one of the restaurant in "my" city, which is similar to my home country.
However I try to avoid other "foreign" restaurants as they tend to provide really bad food...
Unlike many others I hate Shanghai sweetish and Guangdong natural taste food (with exception of Guangzhou duck with plum souce - delicious!)...
Northern garlic flavored taste is fine with me
nope. no one ever gets tired of proper Mexican. undisputed best food on the Blue Planet.
dongbeiren:
Yummy, that's one thing I really miss in China, I can't get real Mexican food in my city. I forgot to put that on the list of stuff in my hometown - great Mexican food too!
Strawberry66:
I like Mexican food too, I have tired several Mexican resturants in Shanghai.
There's no bone splinters in North American Chinese food. How can anyone get tired of a thick TENDER steak?
jenny's cafe in jinan has fajitas and tostadas, but im afraid thats the only place i know here for mexican. whats the best place in beijing, i have to travel to the embassy next month
diverdude1:
dunno about the capital, but if u ever find yourself in SZ or GZ u might wanna check out McCawley's Irish Pub. darn good Tex-Mex imo. doesn't come cheap, but none of those western pubs in Guangdong are cheap.
BrendanE:
Best place in Beijing is Sand Pebbles or El Gran Bocado. Don't do QMex, they have hygiene issues.
I am so happy my mother taught me to cook when I was younger and I have kept up my culinary skills. I would go nuts eating rice, noodles and KFC al the time. Living in these small BFE towns is pretty hard on the taste buds sometimes. Thank you Taobao for delivery to BFE.
diverdude1:
long time since I heard BFE, I wonder how many of our readers know that obscure (to most of the world) initialism ?
diverdude1:
dunno how it came to be ,,,,,, but when I was in my 20s in the US, we always said BFE (Bum Fuck Egypt) ...... just meant some really dumb, shitty, small place out in the middle of nowhere...
"yeah, I have to spend the weekend visiting my granpa, he lives in BFE about a hundred miles from Corpus"
