Q: Attack of the Clones?

After long waiting in the shadows, the wumaos have revealed themselves again (their new year budget has been renewed).  Here is a quick reminder of how to identify them.

1.  They only come in pairs:  a master and an apprentice.

2.  They attack with a barrage of off topic posts on the problems of other countries

3.  Their favorite target is Americans.  Do they even know most posters here are NOT American?  No matter, that's useless logic.

Anyways, the clone war has begun anew!  Foreigners, don't forget to use your green, energy friendly lightsabers and may the force be with you.

Maybe the reason for US bashing is ''US is (recently -----> last 10 - 15 'Neocon's' Y) very often caught 'with the hand in the dish''?indecision

Which (pair of) handles do you suggest are paid posters?

Remember it is possible to do US-bashing without being a paid poster or even Chinese, heck maybe there are even US bashers in the US.

TMaster:

Second that, especially since wumao-engineered trolling is usually so bad people don't bother anymore.

Yes Scandi but be careful with any US bashing........I've seen one guy on here recently being called Chinese due to his US bashing and the Texan who called him that is so far from the truth!

So beware of the 5 US cent guys.....who don't like any criticism of the good old US of A!

Just because I am anti gun and pro healthcare does not make me an anti American.

It is a strange country though, that's for sure wink.

And yes, I have been there. I worked there for 6 months in the nineties.

More like Attack Of The Paranoids...

Seriously, what's the point of unleashing wumaos on a website frequented by mostly foreigners who live in China ? Most of them living in China for a few years ? US bashing is not a Chinese monopoly, and bashing US does not makes you a pro-China.

xinyuren:

maybe your memory is a little short?  There have in fact been wumaos on this site before.  Whether in fact there are now is up for debate.  My question is just a little joke, but if you question that there has been before, then you haven't been here long enough or you know nothing of wumao methodology. They don't post for our eyes, but for the many more eyes that are viewing this site from outside China (duh!).

The thing is, how you make the distinction between a wumao and an angry moron in a need to bash something, anything ? Again, a wumao would comment on a place with high visibility to get his/her proverbial 5 maos. Here, can't say it's highly visible. However, the China expat sphere have it lots of nutcases, some might say it's a breeding ground for nutcases. And we definitly have nutcases here, almost an honeypot for nutcases.

This site may not have high visibility, but at wumao per post, it's worth the effort.

I have to choose between two explanations : wumaos or angry Internet guy venting on his pet thieves, say, US evils. I consider the 2nd explanation more likely and it fits with the English used by the 2 guys. For real wumaos, go read the section of the Global Times, entirely different rhetoric and patterns.

Im one of the three thumbs up xinyuren  and I  agree with your statement . But Echina is what it is and all we can do is give timely warnings to the real people on here such as do not post web sites on here for fear they will be blocked . Don't be fooled that ever job advertised  is for real . and don't be side tracked by off topic posts. remember China wants you to see the pretty stuff not the everyday things

There have absolutely been some on here. But they are pretty sneaky, think it would be tough to spot one at first. I think this forum is definitely one they would target.

ScotsAlan:

Yup. I daresay the 55 people who post here are a threat to national security.

So they employ a half dozen school kids to try disrupt things. Cost's them 6RMB.

If this website was in America the CIA would have a multi million dollar budget to send agents in to infiltrate it.

Value for money to get a 15 minute slot on Fox news when the ringleader is blown up by a drone......

Sorry.... am I USA bashing?

I suspect they would use reverse psychology on here.Their targets would not be the foreigners, it would be the local populace who peruse these pages.

And what better way to do that than pose as some gun toting, gung ho, and anti Chinese  foreigner.

I am accused of being a wumao, and I respond by laying out the tactics I would use if I was one. So I must be one if I know the tactics.....

As I said before, tell me where to apply.  Got to be worth a D visa...

For those who have doubts about wu mao , realize that this very website has provocative posts that have been reposted in certain Chinese forums and has attracted  a few angry hornets on over.  Won't mention specifics but learn some language and browse the Chinese netisphere some.  Btw America bash all you want if it makes you feel better about yourselves, but remember if you are in China It doesn't  really matter if you guys are American or not, you're all laowai , are hairy,  have big noses and speak crappy Chinese.

I realized people are taking the definition of wu Mao a bit literal ie like they have to be an employed government bot to classify.  Actually just posting propagandist related garbage in General is going to get you called a wu mao.

I hope you guys are not talking about me? If yes, you are barking up the wrong tree. You know some people are interested in other things besides beer, chinese girls, and fuc*ked up relationships.  I enjoy talking about real issues and world politics.  We all know the real China because we live here. Most of the world does not.  Same applies to America. Those of us who lived there know what is going on. We are lucky to have lived in both places and to be able to see the forest and not just the trees, yes? Of course I do not expect everyone to agree with my views.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
