HI, sir, I think for Haizhu district is very quite because now in Guangzhou many foreigner already gather in Yuexiu, Liwan and Baiyun area. And Baiyun area is not very safe because too many Chinese factory worker come from another city lived there because the low rental fee.

As I think Yuexiu, Tianhe is very good because is safe and transportation is well. But has many people. Haizhu is quite and also safe than the Baiyun area

Hello, I live in Guangzhou for more than six years, actually I don't think Baiyun is a very good area to live in GZ.

Of course, it depends on which place you live and where do you work. If you work in Tianhe, it will be good. Biayun is not far from Tianhe, you can also take the subway, line 3, just a few stops to the central of GZ. The transportation is very convenient. However, in rush hour, the transportation is terrible, I am sure you won't like it.

If you just want to improve your living environment, Baiyun is not a good choice. Hengsha, Jinsha zhou is good, but it is TOO FAR! Meihuayuan and Yantang is good, you can go and see around.

An App called FoxTalk, is for foreigners in China, maybe you can try.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
