Also, do you know any China bashers? What makes someone a "China basher"?
I call out BS and retarded behaviors (as exemplified by so-called adult professionals and educated people) where ever i am, especially if it impacts on my ability to do my job.
It just happens that there seems to be a higher proportion of sensitive flowers and fragile egos in China than in any other country i have worked in.
The higher i go on the food chain in China, the more fragile the ego.

Here's the problem with Chinese, they can't deal with honest criticism. People critique America's gun policy, are they America bashers, no. I post about seeing people shit on the street, am I a China basher? Yes, why? Balzac, please tell me why China is so fucking special that we can't poke at what's wrong with China? People in China follow foreigners around harassing them with photos, pointing, yelling things at them, but they're not bashers?
Balzac, do you ever criticize another country? Does that automatically mean you hate the country?
Englteachted:
Funny that China and Trump have the same mental illness, if you disagree, you're attacking them
expatlife26:
Agree 100%, i wonder if that's because the idea of China both as a race, country and government might be much more conflated than in places like the US.
Like you said about gun violence, I can hear someone discuss that and not mistake that as in any way an attack on me or the people in general. Just a statement about a state of affairs within the territory of the united states
Englteachted:
I don't that's it. . China , in order to control the mindless masses, doesn't allow criticism . They don't want people to know about China's glaring problems.
expatlife26:
That would be why the government "officially" freaks out at the first sign of criticism, and I definitely am with you there. But going past that to the average nationalistic dummy who takes criticism of any aspect of this place personally I bet there is something else going on.
Englteachted:
There's an article on yahoo about the leader's friends in government increasing their wealth over his reign. I will not post the link
balzac:
I didn't mean to indicate in my question that China was somehow "special" and above criticism or anything else. I wanted to ask about the label itself and what it means. I did this in an indirect way I guess.
It is not bashing when the truth is being told. Some people have a problem with those telling the truth about them, their ego can't handle it. This is the source of lies and flatteries behind the chinese dishonest face culture.
I dont know if Iam a basher or not,I just feel that you have to talk about things you go through here other wise you go crazy.
you need to get things off your chest,or the shit you go through will just build up and then POP.
diverdude1:
same as I see it. what continually trips me out is when we get discussing social issues I can see that my friends get defensive,,,, then I tell them that I'll discuss and acknowledge US social ills all day long! funny thing is, in the US pointing-out and discussing social ills seems to be one of the most popular past-times. And engaging in a spirited critique doesn't mean that I love or hate the place! I don't have some weird mindset that makes me feel the need to defend f'd up things to 'foreigners' to show how the US is so great.
well,,,, just a really different mentality has been ingrained here.

I couldn't agree more Rob.
In fact, I sort of resent it when people bring their local girlfriends / friends to a blokes beer session that is probably going to involve a lot of guys venting about their week.
I don't feel comfortable when the conversation goes that way because I know it makes them feel bad or defensive, the Chinese people there don't feel comfortable and won't understand that it's just people talking about their frustrations and getting them out there, not an attack on China.
You end up feeling like your Friday night therapy session has been denied you.
Yep.
Do the positives outweigh the negatives? Yes, or I wouldn't be here.
But I'll still bash away
I call it as I see it.
Even if it's my own country that has done something retarded.
It's just that there are more dumb muppets in China than Australia.
Thank Christ Trump is a Yank
philbravery:
Haha...I think Trump is trying to do right ....but he still scareds the crap out of me every time he utters a word about other countries
Stiggs:
I think Trump is trying to be popular enough with the people who voted for him to keep his job so he can help out his billionaire mates and backers. The same as any other politician.
Too often people have asked me how I feel about .... (insert China related subject here.)
What annoys me, or actually just doesn't get them any sensible response at all is that a lot of the time the question is loaded. There is only one 'correct' answer and that is gushing praise for China, anything else is proof that all laowai are against China and want to hold her back, just like we've been taught and expect to see now.
I've seen it play out so many times. Someone will ask you a question and right away all of the males in the room and a few of the females too will have this challenging, waiting to be outraged look on their faces as they glare at you waiting for an answer.
You can't give any sort of honest answer because weird minds are twisting your words to make it an insult and you don't want to be a kiss ass toady wanker to people who are basically trying to set you up so you just give an answer that nobody understands and get the hell away from the horrible people as soon as you can.
Q. Where are you from?
Me . Tell them.
Q. Which country is best? (whatever the Feck that even means but it happened)
Me. Yes ! Well see you later, I'm need to go meet a friend so....
Q. How do you think of China?
Me. sometimes.. well, see ya
Englteachted:
Fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!! It's like the wife asking, 'do you think I'm fat?'. Low self esteem
RandomGuy:
When a Chinese asks you how you feel about something China related, they are not truly interested in hearing your opinion. What they are seeking is a comforting approval of their own thoughts. Following are the right answers to common questions that Foreigners receive from Chinese: Do you like China? Yes, China is the best. / Do you prefer {insert country} or China? China of course! / Do you like Chinese food? Yes, but my laowai pallet can't handle the la. / Do you like Chinese girls? Yes, but they do not like me. / When will you go back to your country? When China has no use for me anymore. / etc... Chinese don't care about your opinion, they want to be comforted that China is the best and Chinese are the most handsome/pretty people and that Foreigners won't stay in China forever. Insecurity is deeeeeeeeeeeep rooted within their culture.
earthizen:
lol, rolling on the floor. None of us owe those psychos an education. Most of them, deep down, know everything about the shithole they collectuvely created. When they ask you this and that, poking and fishing, you can always tell them to google it on the internet because it is such a complicated topic, or go to your facebook for the same reason. :)
Shining_brow:
"You should Google that"
"We can't, it's blocked in China".
"Sucks for you... what was your question again?"
Yes, I am a China basher, because I have my own opinion on everything and as a foreign devil I am by definition a China basher. I also dream of stealing all Chinese women for myself and becoming the next emperor.
If you consider the words criticism and factual as synonyms to 'china bashing', then yes.
My apologies Balzac if I misinterpreted the intent of your post. We're over due for a post calling us all racists for talking about China.
