Trying to get a taxi from bejjing north to my hotel late at night. Couldn't find a taxi driver who would use their meter despite me telling them to. Cheapest offer was 150 rmb haggled down to 100rmb. Took less than 10mins to get to my hotel. Who pays that for a taxi in china? Don't usually get this around shanghai hangzhou, is this normal for bejjing?
In my experience, yes. I hate Beijing taxi drivers.
Beijing huanying ni... yeah well the drivers certainly don't.
I was amazed at how honest the taxi drivers were once i left Beijing. Sure, some screwballs will use a fake meter, but its nothing compared to Beijing cab drivers. Just one more reason to not live in Beijing.
Google maps helps keep searching until you find a legal taxi driver. Act like you're taking pictures or their license displayed on the dashboard. Walk to a different area where there is heavy traffic. Yeah taxi drivers suck in Beijing.
i didnt pay the idiot that tried that on me i got out and started walking and he was yelling i.just laughed and kept on going when hevfinally dicided to go back and get his cab thst he left runnig dead were already 100 yards away when he went back i jumped into another cab
In order of worst. 1. Tianjin, 2. Fuzhou, 3. Beijing
have no problem to jump out and not pay when knowing I am being "taken for a ride". They can yell as much as they want.

I find that Tianjin is not that bad except near the bus station.

tiainjin not reglulated at railway, in addition roads are circular, not grid, so if driver feels you are unaware they will attempt to drive you in circles. be aware of your surrondings.
