Q: Best way to get a job back home from China?

I am an American student who will be finishing their Masters degree this year and I want to return home to find work and live there for a bit.  I prefer a job that would allow me to live in the states and then go to China for trips.  Do you think it is possible for me to find a job in the states within the next 7 months without my physically being there?

You will be master in what field?
If You know language, and You have technical education - look for a job in companies that made production in China.
Many of them need production managers, and in the duties of production manager are visits in China.
But if You think that this trips are as nice as student's life - You can be a little disappointed...

If You want to find this king of job ... prepare and send applications now, then meet representatives of this companies, when They will attend to spring session of Canton Fairs, or similar in Your branch (still don't know field of degree).

Highlight your China cross-cultural experience since many companies back west, both large and small want to expand their business to China and need people they can trust who know the Chinese ways, language, and especially the deceptions used to do business.

Market in the U.S. is trending backward. Seriously.... I would approach a company while you are in China and emphasize that you are there and prepared to take on the task. The job market in the states is a disaster, the Chinese economy is stalled, the regime change is underway and an election of a new idiot in America. If your Visa will allow it - hang tight in China.
