Are you embarrassed that blue skies are such a rarity? I know it amazes me how many people overload wechat comments with pictures on the 2 days a year the cloud cover breaks.
You must live up north somewhere. You should try Guangdong, it's generally a lot less polluted down here, especially when you get towards Zhuhai

I agree....always blue skies unless it is raining as it has most days for the past 4 months but blue skies before and after

Odd... most of my tripos through Shenzhen have been crap skies! Get to HK, and nice and clear... (I put it down to the winds coming through the islands, and the lack of factories).
My 2 trips to GZ were 50/50.
Good point from Englteachted. It's the Chinese government who should be embarrassed about the lack of blue sky days. The only time some cities get decent skies is for big meetings. How do they achieve this? By forcing the polluting factories to close for a few weeks before and during them.
Remember how Beijing had APEC Blue? Well this September Hangzhou will have G20 Blue. How? The cement factories are being closed for FOUR weeks! The furniture factories I deal with will close for two weeks.
Now we know China has environmental laws. Why don't they bloody enforce them?

wonder if PM (preventative maintenance) is on the agenda for the month off?
the first year in jinan, i saw blue skies 6 days the whole year, in qingdao, almost every day is blue. two hours on a train between heaven and hell.
Go to a city that doesn't rely on industry and you will have blue skies.
