And so, Day 1 of a new year has just ended for me. Calling it a day. A good one, actually. And I hope whoever reads this post has had a good one, too.
Went to bed quite late last night after a music gig at a WeChat party that lasted just before midnight. Scurried over to Lennon Bar for a live rendition of Auld Lang Syne that got the joint reelin' and a'rocking. Champagne flooded the dance floor and we were laffin. The gf and I finally went home and rang in the new year at 3 AM with a bang and a snore. Woke up at 8 this morning, but arose at 12 for a quick breakfast and a back to bed. Run to the supermarket later in the day, dinner - eggplant parmesan, spinach salad, bottle of red - and now time for the sandman.
Hope all y'all had a good one today and another 364 to come!

Yup, Pretty decent day. Almost failed at dinner, when the waiter, having placed some hot food on our table daid there was 30 mins wait for rice !!! Turned out the threat of leaving without paying made it possible to have nice, warm rice on our table just 2 mins later.

30 minute wait for rice in China? maybe 2014 is the year the Twilight Zone comes to Life !! Rod Serling lives!
We spent the day looking at the chance to buy our next house.. will have to pay a 20,000 tax fine but its ok, so after getting all the information and down payment we called it a day..
For anyone who thinks its not worth it, I bought our first house in 2008 for 480,000 now it's valued at 1,200,000... you see, I made a profit and could sell it easily, already had offers... So guys investments pay off..
Scandinavian:
would you yourself pay 1.2 million for your current house ?
ironman510:
Although I don't see the logic in your question, I'll answer it truthfully, Depending on our needs of a family, yes, what makes our house so valuable is the High school and Primary school across the street the Beach can be seen from our balcony and the beach is only a 7 minute walk.. You're welcome to visit..

typical chinese ... when you have free day to rest, just go out shoppooping or choose your house ... terrible life
I was hungover - a rare occasion these days - and spent the first half trying to eat an egg roll, then a few hours back in the pub (drinking water) so my partner, who worked NYE, could have a night out. Could've been better, could've been worse...
Went to an American bar for New Year's
company was first class - so great night
food was terrible and my mates told me the drinks were watered
took an hour to find a taxi.
chilled out yesterday - got a bad cold
beginning to emerge now
my New Years Eve sucked. As usual. Too much pressure. I'm usually happier when I pretend it's just any other night.
nursing food poisoning from eating seafood in Hainan. Do Not eat seafood in Hainan! So my New year stunk literally!

Ouch. Don't like that stinky stuff. Worse than armadillo poo, right?
You from Texas? Where abouts?
