Q: Can I get a work visa without 2 years of work experience?
I've been told that you need 2 years of work experience to get a work visa in China, and that China's getting stricter about this requirement. Is that true? Is it true for all jobs or just non-teaching positions?

It's ESPECIALLY true for non teaching jobs.
Otherwise you need to define what visa you're after. If it's a working visa you're after, ie. 1 year visa with residence permit, then yea, you def. need 2 years working experience.
Otherwise, you could try to get the business visa, which runs up to 6 months, a student visa or tourist visa.
the rumor says that if you complete a 7-day TEFL in China training program sponsored by the Information Research Center of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA) you do not need the 2-year work experiences to get a Z visa. Yes, yes you can. It also depends mind you on where you're going some cities may not let you but others (smaller) don't care
Mostly it depends on the company you are working for and their standing with the local PSB office
If you're trying to work in a 1st or 2nd tier city then forget about it. I tried to get mine for 3 months with no success so I just got a 60 day entry tourist visa. Took 4 days.
many people come to china without any working experience and still find a job... getting a visa depends on the company that hires you
