The question should read: I'm on  tourist visa and I am not really a tourist at all - I'm here to do business. Could you people please assist me in breaking the law?

Yes, it is.

At least it was when I did it in 2011.

As far as I know it's getting very difficult now. I've heard banks are wanting to see resident permits & work contracts.

Is is this bank account so you can work her illegally on your eBay earnings more easily?  I hope you realize that getting your money our of china afterwards is very difficult if you can't show how you earned it.

Have your passport, money to deposit, and a friend who speaks Chinese abd you can open an account.  Some banks may ask you for a second ID to prove identity, make suret to have one with photo handy just in case.

Rules change all the time, so the only way to find out for sure is to go to a bank and try. But I would wait till you have your new visa first.

You might be getting into dangerous ground here. You are effectively setting up a trading company on a tourist visa, and now you want a Chinese bank account. Maybe you should think about setting up your finances in HK.

There has been lots of questions on here about setting up companies. I think you should do a search.

You seem to have a working business model. Basically a middle man between taobao and eBay. It might work well for you if you have the right product.

But you need to be careful with your visa. Lots of people are doing what you are trying to do. But not on a tourist visa. It's actually still illegal on a business visa, but its easier to pay well over the odds for a year long business visa than it is to keep getting one month tourist visas.

That's what I heard down the pub.

But if your plan is good, set up a company. Be legal.

The World Tourism Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes".

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
