Q: Can we have more moderation on this forum, please?
It seems that there are fewer and fewer real questions on this site, as a friend just pointed out to me. I'm guilty of asking some pretty dumb questions myself, but...
We have no moderation - it's just been constant trolling back and forth. I'd appreciate it if we could get back to what we used to be... an answers site; a place to ask questions about China, and maybe rant and rave about it from time to time.
Pretty please, admin? With a cherry on top? Thanks.

Over the last couple of months i have noticed more and more trolling, ranting and personal insults directed at particular people.
while there are still some useful questions regarding Visa issues - these are ever-changing and can be confusing to say the least, questions about EC's and the like, these are becoming few and far between.
It seems to be cyclical in that this sort of thing is happening regularly.
I have also noticed that fewer of the regular female posters have contributed.
Is there a connection???

I do still come on here time to time, but the questions have definitely deteriorated somewhat. I miss the good ol' questions about stuff where we can all throw our two pence in...

I Agree. The recent replacement Admin is pretty useless. If you don't have time to moderate the forum, don't offer to do it. Let someone else take over. I remember when the Admin was an active participant of the forums and could regularly be seen replying to posts directed at them. I don't know what the f is going on now, but it doesn't seem like anything is. I'm all for freedom of speech but this part of the website has turned into a joke.
If you don't like the site, why do you stay here? Oh; that's right. It's your job.

It would be wonderful to have some input/response from these lurkers, it would be nice to be able to welcome them to the site.
Unless, of course, these are nothing more than sock-puppet accounts used to further denigrate the site - in which case they should be banned.
Forgot to mention our bff: ipso_facto who is responsible for the constant thumbs-downing of everyone and everything (despite being "outed" for more than a week, its account is still active - no posts, no replies).

Remember that apart from the Answers section, many people use the site for uploading their CVs or other stuff, and may be wandering here looking for answers without necessarily being lurkers.

No problem there...but recent activity (the large number of empty accounts online), coupled with the pandemonium does give one a strong suspicion that not all of these accounts are lurkers.
Some forums have a mandatory introduction required; others, a minimum number of trial posts/responses before allowing full access. It is my opinion that this site should introduce one more hurdle to the membership process to prevent the kind of crap that has been going on.

Hi there,
I have just seen my name on your list! Yep, I do tend to come on here quite often to have a read and look for answers to a few questions that I have had as well as having updated my CV a few times.
Anyway let me introduce myself. I have recently arrived in Yangzhou with my daughter, although this isn't my first time in China. I have previously lived in Luoyang and Guangzhou quite a number of years ago and I must admit that the recent posts about Henan were pretty spot on. We are here from NZ for at least the next 12 months and then we will see what happens from there - everything is going well at the moment but I know how quickly things can change - so we will see how things pan out over the next year.

Hi I have not posted for nearly a year because of all the trolls on here that have nothing better to do than trash this site, I found it two years ago when I was coming out to China for the first time and I must say it was a great site, it had some really good information, some funny rants and raves, some good debates and loads of useful information, but not anymore, think admin should step up

Yes. Hulk is gone and posts that don't match China's official line disappear from time to time. The trolls are still here though.
