I just thought it might give us something to talk about. example: Discussing why the average China-born enjoys amplifying his/her speaking voice to a volume which would make Axl Rose envious.
and while we're at it throwing out anything we want to talk about too... kinda like random chatty/gossipy/drunken pub convo ~
I know there are those will say no, but I don't see what's wrong with it.
Just like a real conversation, if it's worth talking about once there's nothing to say it can't be resurrected at any time. People can have a new perspective or anecdote, new information can come out or someone new may want to contribute.
How many people have regular drinking buddies, where you regularly find yourselves talking about the same things. Work, weird shit that happened to you this week, sport, things that piss you off about living in China, politics, current events.... it's the same thing.
I encourage anyone who wants to reopen an interesting thread to do so, and if people aren't interested... don't get upset, just don't read it !
Oh... There are those who resurrect a five year old post where someone is asking what can they do to sort out their dire visa emergency to say something pointless like call SAFEA or respect the laws of China, as if the poster is still following the thread.
Usually they have questionable English, are brand new members and probably won't reply to any answers...feel free to ignore, troll or reply as you see fit to those because there is probably an agenda there.
Stiggs:
I never saw that one, I think it was before my time.
It must have been good for it to be blocked though.
Not really into the re hash of Lethal Weapon as a tv series.
Also Star Teck just isn't the same without Kirk or Picard .
then we move on to politics......err maybe we better not

good, I'll go first. You know how we have all said/agreed at one time or another that the reason most people don't stand up and correct other people's execrable behavior is due to fear of reprisal. I think I found evidence backing up that mentality 100%.

...thoughts regarding?

or like how for awhile they were banning knives.... I don't remember the details but it was something like you could not carry a knife with a blade over 7" on school campus,,, or something like that, I honestly don't remember the details.
seems people always wanna fix things by telling criminals which laws they need to obey. Seems to me criminals don't obey laws. :p
I think it's a good way to look back at what was. China is changing fast. So is the culture.
When the new post to resurrect actually adds something useful, I don't have a problem.
When it's basically a useless waste of space (such as one-liners often tend to be)... then obviously it's also a waste of time!
