I guess one of the cons is you don't get pros knocking on your door at 3am, although since my wife'd be with me, I guess that's a pro not a con. But i'm thinking i'd like to buy a caravan. Only ever seen one here once and i've no idea how much of a 'thing' it is in China. I'm guessing it's way easier to find somewhere to park up for the night than back west, right? But what other considerations need considering and taking into.................consideration?
Driving with Chinese characteristics + caravans. Have you notice how few articulated lorries etc. there are on the streets?
I think China by caravan would be a great way to see places. But I don't know what camping laws are like in China. Can you pitch up anywhere?? It would suck if you drive around nice places, try and park near a beautiful view for the night and then someone comes along and tells you to head to some horrible parking lot. Though I suppose you could just pay them off.
Is there a problem because you must register at PSBs? I don't like being tethered. If you speak Chinese, you could get in areas that you can't understand the local dialect. How would you know that you can't get there from here? I think that saying originated in China.
I tried it once, but died of Dysentery and fell into the river.
Stupid American here. I'm assuming you're talking about an RV (recreational vehicle)? House on wheels so to speak? I think a big con would be how expensive it would be compared to more mundane methods of travel. Both in terms of purchase price and operating costs....you know that thing is gonna suck down the gas! A big pro is won't be a big deal to empty the sewage....just dump it anywhere you please!

Recreational vehicle sounds like one of those huge things you have in the states. I'm talking about the little things not much longer than a car but with a bed, table, loo, etc in the back. Barely enough room for me, the wife and kid could sleep on the roof, but it would save a fortune during Golden Week.
Have you got any prices of what the motor home would cost in China or what license you would need to drive it ?
I love your idea, but I don't think it would be workable for a Foreigner
Pros: probably the built-in kitchen is way bigger than the one in da home here...
Cons: Once you arrive at the place for camping, already no place for you ...
