Q: Changbaishan worth a visit?

I had a friend that went up there last September just as the weather was cooling down and he said the autumnal colors and views were pretty spectacular. Plus, you get a view into North Korea. Has anyone been there? Any thoughs?

i just got back yesterday.  heaven lake is beautiful, the waterfall is awesome.  they say 80 percent of the time you cant see the lake bc of fog and clouds though, but when we were at the top, is was clear skies.  it gets expensive though.  the ticket to enter the park, 125, the bus to the scenic spots, 80, the van to the top, 80, seeing all the other parts of the mountain are not included, like the volcanic valley. you dont see much of north korea, just forest and trees.  we stayed in a little town outside chanbaishan called erdaobaihe, not much to do in the town except eat.  becareful  though, dog is the local speciality.  its a bit of a pain getting there too.  many trains and buses.  but if you have the time, patience, money, and like nature, go for it.  totally worth it.
