Q: Chinese basketball team without Yao Ming...any good?

The Chinese national basketball team was alright when Yao Ming played. Recently I have watched some of there games now that Yao is retired and they can't even beat Angola. What's up with that?

For a while I thought the Chinese team had potential now I realize it was just Yao Ming!

What do you think?

No, likely not... They have what 3-4 really good players, I'm surprised a country with 1.5 billion turns out less than a country with 35 million...

Watched a number of recent games against a 2nd string Australian team. The Aussies were missing most of their top ranked players, notably NBA players Andrew Bogut and Patty Mills along with European based Newley, Ingles, Jawai, Andersen, Neilsen. The Chinese team even with Yi back in the lineup were still defeated. In the 2 recent Stankovic cup competitions they only managed 1 win. Based on these efforts I will say that they will struggle and they have gone backwards under American coach Bod Donewald. You have the best coach right on your doorstep in former Aussie coach Brian Goorjian. Has had great sucess in the CBA with the Aussie national side and the NBL(Australia National Basketball League) He should be still the National coach here, but if I was China I'd snap him up right now.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
