" WHEN YOU CLAIM TO BE A US CITIZEN "
within a longer sentence and in a reply or comment to a post. This has been taken as an insult by me to another person, and twisted to imply that I have doubts of whichever country this particular person was born in.
The statement does not mean anything at all behond what it says. It just says that YOU claim to be a US citizem, it does not say that you are not, nor that I have any doubts as to where you were born. It does not say either whether I do care where you were born, nor if your ancestors were in the Mayflower or created one of the 13 original colonies, nor if became involved in politics and public offices. There is no need to send me messages challenging me, that only proves that you are reacting as a child, not as a mature man.
And please, be also aware that even if we, in everyday life, refer to ourselves as AMERICANS, every person born from Chile and Argentina in the south, to Canada and Alaska i the north, can also rightfully claim to be an American too, since they were born in The American Continent, of which USA is part of.
I never challenged your place of birth, and I could not care less where it was. Grow some tougher skin, and if you are so sensitive about it, it only indicates that there is something you are trying hard to hide.
PS: To the CAT Admin: If you think this is not appropiate to be here, it would not bother me one bit if you delete it. And my apologies too !

You don't have to be born in America to become an American citizen. There are thousands of troops from puerto rico, mexico etc., that joined the U.S. military and have recently become US citizens. If you put your allegiance to America and swear on that oath and take all the necessary steps and procedures during that ceremony than you become a citizen.
Why do you have to be born there? You can't say that those people that just became citizens aren't citizens of America just because they weren't born there. If they have an American passport they have all the rights and freedoms of an American.
Anyways I thought you had asked me that before, but I never sent anybody any email regarding this matter. I value your opinion and views HappyExpat take care!
crimochina:
pr is technically part of the usa, if you were an american citizen you would know that.
GuilinRaf:
Thanks Crimo, I will only add that we have been U.S. Citizens since 1917.
Shining_brow:
And, given that there are lots of Americans around that don't know where Canada is, I doubt that EVERY US citizen would know about PR's...
HappyExPat:
Mattaya, FYI Puero Rico, and those born there, by birth are citizens of the USA. An ACT of the US Congress granted them US Citizenship at birth, nothing requiredx to be done. In reality, PR is a US territory, not a State, and as such has no Senators or Representatives, nor votes for the President, but pay no US Federal Income tax either. It does have a nonvoting member (a Comssioner) in the House do, duly elected by constiyuends from PR. I spent 20 years living there, and in a way it grew into me. It is called by many the Island of Enchantment, and I fully adhere to that. Any one from PR can fly to the continentral USA (as we cqll it down there) without a visa, passport or any documents, as many times as you want and stay for as long as you want. We also serve in the Arm Forces of USA, and many has given their lives in the defense of freedom, not to gain a citizenship (since they already have it).
GuilinRaf:
What part of P.R. did you live Happy? I grew up mostly in Rio Piedras.
crimochina:
actually shining there are many puerto ricans throughout the usa so .. you are still right ;) i've heard many ricans referred to as illegals or you just want citizenship.... bla bla. so thank you shinnig thank you for completely submarining my point ;) that's me crying with one eye hehe
I think you clarified it yourself pretty well.
I usually refer to myself as a US citizen. While people could say "American" due to being from anyplace on 2 continents, most people like to say the name of the country they are from. Because the USA is the only country with the name "America" in it, it's common to use "American" when refering to us. I like it better than "United Statesian" or something like that.
And for the record, I claim to be a US citizen, but how would you know without meeting me in person and seeing my passport? I could actually be from Mars and I am just here to mask my identity.
philbravery:
thats ok some of the posters here come from other worlds aswell
happy, if anyone tries to faine offense to sth you said they probably deserve to be offended. american or not. and just look at this site , it is over run with phonies claiming to be from all over the western world. (but no one claims to be from china, that must be a loss of face when locals are too ashamed to acknowledge they are chinese)
my point being , anyone who has been here for longer than a day knows you are very polite and non offensive with your posts.
and the cat is smart enough to know you can get a pass. (i mean desrve a pass)
but why would this be a problem and not "if dogs cant clean up after themselves"
and happy can i see the full context of what you said? if i read it and find it offensive i will personally report you to the cat and push for a life time ban!!!!!!!!!!!!
HappyExPat:
Crimo, your wishes are my command. Please read below : Do you wonder why you get down votes?. The question is about environmental pollution, and your reply was that China is the largest supplier of solar panels. What building solar panels has a thing to do with people throwing garbage everywhere. Bet you are going to get a few more........ PS: You do remaind me a lot of another poster, writes like you, gives the same type of replies, claims to be from USA, and spends a lot of time thumbing people down. And very coincidentally, he sort of disapear when you showed up too !
crimochina:
happy, according to the info in your reply clearly a wumao. they are not human and are therefore not deserving of consideration.
MissA:
It was my question re: environment posted Wednesday afternoon, and the comments went further.
Happy you should be ashamed! He is, afterall, *New England pure blood all the way back to the may flower if you do not count all the immigrants and Irish along the way.* and he also boasted somewhere along the line of being related to founding fathers of certain Ivy League schools. Apparently, they don't teach punctuation at dem der fine northern skewls.
Why oh why do they even try? Or he. I think our favorite multiple personality split into another yet again.
Jíliú.hé:
i was not taught punctuation! back in school i can use it but only for academic papers. i did not know you cared so much hugapanda
HugAPanda:
What the hell school did you go to, may flower man? Seriously. There is no way in hell you went to any school in the states.
Jíliú.hé:
do not mock my educationi went to the poorest schools in the school zone they taught it for one week and would not teach me after. my mother and parent had to take them to court multiple times. i had to teach my self when i went to college it is something i do not like to hear people joke about.
crimochina:
wait .. you were so poor and went to a poor school but you come from a prestigious lineage??? are you confusing your personalities?
I shall answer your non-question with a question: who, outside of a Harry Potter novel, refers to themself as a pure-blood???
Don't bother yourself about it, HappyExPat. I doubt I'm the only person reading here who finds your posts full of practical knowedge, and most everyone seems to respect what you write. You can't win 'em all!
Shining_brow:
Aryans (of the neo-nazi variety).... and KKK. Oh, and First Nations peoples from around the world....
Jíliú.hé:
I said pure blood because I thought it sounded funny so since you think it was funny I think you got the point. Thanks I did not think anyone would find it that funny
You do realize I sent you a message saying I would give you proof of my nationality you could have simple sent a reply but you posted it as a question instead. You realize how childish that is. And to answer mattaya most of my blood comes from immigrants who worked hundred hour weeks in slums I know what it means to earn your citizenship. If you look at my profile you can see I am from New England and did not think I needed to say the United States of America. here is the reply I posted
Jíliú.hé:
Yes They are big on recycling and they are getting involved in organic farming and retail china is the biggest supplier of solar tech if you want to do some research
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/31/business/energy-environment/31renew.html
i use word to write my posts i did not Notice that I forgot the first part
HappyExPat:

thank you HappyExPat: i did not notice that And on a second note my family have been here since the mayflower we have founded colleges and governed states and been in every war we could, I take great insult from belittling me and my linage. I will be sending you a message to see if you would like me to prove that I am an American born and proud
MissA:
Being a d!ck to HappyExPat is one of the surest ways to earn down points, surely you don't need to be on the forum long to work that out!
Jíliú.hé:
sorry i am very happy that he insinuates i am not American
Jíliú.hé:
i forgot to paste off a word document so he implies I am some troll. I was not insulting him so guess I am a dick because I called him on it
and there are all the post
crimochina:
you do realize china is the capital of forgery. and forging a copy of a document is so easy a caveman can do it. what wumaos continue to fail to understand is this. you cant google actual life experience.i cant pass myself off as a canadian because i have no life experience living in canada. but chinese are indoctrinated to see foreign culture as simple (among other bs)so when you portray yourself as an american, brit etc. it becomes laughable. you couldnt even fool other chinese people. i am willing to help the chinese gov in this regard. i will happily work as a consult with the wu mao dept. my consultancy fee is 650,000rmb. in return the chinese gov will have wu maos that actually accomplish the goal of the wumao dept.
GuilinRaf:
At Crimo: Hey! My good buddy the Geico Caveman says "not cool!".:
As to your consultancy , well I bid 500,000!!! So THERE!
Jíliú.hé:
I meant a video of me and my friends hanging out at college and dancing in front of local land marks while we all show our federal identification but at this point I do not care enough to bother.
Miss A:
Thanks for your advise and kind words. To me this chapter was closed, but the buck Sgt at the Army barracks taught us never to give up on a fight. But age has made me wiser too.......
Anyway, take in consideration what I wrote . And what really is challenged is what I wrote after "PS".
" PS: You do remaind me a lot of another poster, writes like you, gives the same type of replies, claims to be from USA, and spends a lot of time thumbing people down. And very coincidentally, he sort of disapear when you showed up too ! "
What have I said. clearly it means that HE remainds me of another poster WHO does a few things like claiming to be a US Citizen. I never said he was not. He is too sensitive about that issue, and that is odd.
You can't enter the kitchen and enjoy the fry, but when it gets too hot for you cry wolf. If can not take the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
There is a nice bunch of fellows here, and we post in two distint modes. One is an honest reply, and the other is a sarcastic one. Now, simple, if you do not wish a sarcastic answer, post intelligent questions, or do not claim to be what you are not.
Let's all move on to better things and challenging questions.
Jíliú.hé:
I am sick of commenting back and forth with you, this all it amounts to I though you where insinuating that I was the poster you were talking about who came back with a new name. I am a big enough man to say I am sorry if there was a misunderstanding, I thought you were saying that I was some troll who got kicked off the site who was from god knows where. My apologies I hope we can get over this because from what I hear you sound like a nice guy.
crimochina:
jioliu you doth protest to much me thinks. and by the way i noticed that on some of your posts you're trying switch up your writing style
Jíliú.hé:
I change it based on the answer I give most writer change their style a bit when they make a change plus it is fun to try new styles.
can we call a cease fire on Happy hour please
before it goe's to far.
yeah I know this is good comming from me but im trying to be a big boy today best regards
