For example, I'm from USA so....
Beijing = Washington DC (national capitals)
Shanghai = New York (economic center)
Hong Kong = Los Angeles (because of the celebrities)
Maccau = Las Vegas (obviously)
Shenzhen = Seattle (because its a technology sector)
Chongqing = Houston (spread out over alot of land)
Beijing = Canberra
Sydney = Shanghai
Macau = Gold Coast
Xiamen = Brisbane
Guangzhou/Shenzhen = Melbourne
Datong = Broken Hill
Damn....I guess i should say London is Beijing and Guangzhou is Manchester........the rest of the cities has no comparsion cause the idea to continue this comparison has no base
Createach:
Make sense.........How about xi'an?!!!!................Give me something
Xpat.John:
Never been to Xi'an. Shenzhen = Nottingham (party town). That is all I can come up with since it has been a really long time since I lived in the U.S. ok K.
Createach:
Right......Shenzhen is nottingham......did forget that...............thanks for the feedback
robinhood:
Nottingham, my home town. A very lively place and a mecca for students. Has the most popular university in the UK, strong connections with Ningbo. Just a 'little' bit smaller than Shenzhen, by a few million or so people.
Hainan Dao = Hawaii (what else are you going to compare it too?)
Xiamen = Miami (international influence and a popular tourist spot)
Guangzhou = Dallas (another Texas city that covers alot of land)
Hangzhou = Atlanta (don't know why, it just reminds me of there)
