Recently. I did some thinking. I can't believe I can not do anything and even have no aims for future. I just do the same things over and over again. Sleep, then, go to the classroom and have meal and return dormitory. This life is very very boring. It isn't I want. I even want to drop out of school.
I'm gonna give you a serious answer. Unfortunately China's education system is designed to kill the soul and build robots.
Finish your degree because you need to earn money, find a way to do what you're happy with. Date girls, develop your personality, learn not to be the typical Chinese male, have manners, respect women.

look around you. Get to know real Hong Kong / Taiwanese men

Play guitar...make movies...play basketball...go hiking...read...go to the zoo...go shopping...learn how to cook...play the stock market....discover and then defy gravity....invest yourself in a video game...build a sportscar..etc,,,.do things for yourself that other people do for others (i.e a job)...stay outta trouble and eventually it will come to find you..and by then you'll be grateful it did and you will have given yerself the tools to get out if it
not happy at school??? I would "drop out" can always go back. take on an adventure...just go, follow the dream

Not in China, once you leave you loose your progress and have to start over, if you're allowed

It is easier said than done.Once I drop out, my parents must be heartbroken. They always have high hopes for me. I have talked to my parents about this. They insisted that I have to finish my education and get my degree, no matter what will happen.
What are your hobbies (ie what you enjoy doing/thinking about, naturally)? We will start from there.
earthizen:
Good.
1. Reading. There are many kinds of books (romantic love stories, detective who-killed -Mrs. Old rich woman, science fiction, philosophical, historical, ....etc. What kind do you read/enjoy all the time?
2. Travel. When you travel, how do you choose the places to visit? (e.g. everybody say A, B, C are good, so I visit them all, or, I like x, y, z, and A has them so I go there). What method do you use to choose?
Do the same with singing and food. What and how do you choose?
I've been in a similar situation to you and know what it's like when life seems pointless.
My advice is pretty similar to what others here have said. Stay in school because you'll regret it later if you don't and your parents no doubt worked hard for the opportunity for you to go to school, and find some hobbies or interests outside of school life.
Join a social sports team, learn a new skill, get a cheap bike and explore the city you live in, go for long aimless walks.... it doesn't really matter what your first step is, just do something different and break the pattern you're in. Believe me it helps and you'll start to see potential in life instead of just pointless monotony.
you will have to figure this one out for yourself.
1) what are you good at?
2) what do you enjoy - academic topics (i am not talking about playing games online, shopping etc.)
3) what is your ideal job, and how do you think you will achieve it?
Don't sit back and expect others to do this work for you.
it is your life, your responsibility to do something with it.
university is not the only route to a successful career.
there are practical jobs that can be very lucrative and lead to a lot of personal satisfaction:
Plumber, electrician, mechanic........
You are the one who will have to decide if you want a job that you hate, just because your family wants you in this, or if you are doing work you enjoy.
There is nothing worse than a colleague who is not interested in doing a good job and makes everyone else's professional life difficult either through their negative attitude, lack of motivation or 'half-assing' their work.
you have to decide what your goal is and work towards it.
and yes, work at it.
this is your opportunity to grow as a person by beginning to take personal responsibility for your life, making decisions and living with your choices.
if you sit on your behind and expect other people to do this work for you, you will not be living your own life.
I run a human flesh dumplings business.
You might be able to find some self value in there.
Pm me today and change your fate.
if you ever get a chance go and see a Rolling Stones concert
I have to say sorry for the advertisement yesterday! I shouldn't do that and this kind of things won't happen to me. I promise. I am here to make friends and learn different cultures. I hope you could forgive me.

Are you Chinese? You just acceptrd responsibility for an error of judgement. Good on you mate. There may be hope yet. As to your question, I'm a real homebody and i like reading (maybe too much) but play guitar a lot too. You should give it a try. Dude, you have to finish college for lots of reasons, from keeping your parents happy to social stigma issues. Suck it up. It doesn't take long. Then you can do as you wish. But get to guitar practice....it will open the door to a world of possibilities and a lot of fun.
