It means, eChina granted you 2 extra points for your 'thoughtful' comment.

It happened to me often. CRIT points are points for 'content' of your's/mine's reply.

It means "China Records Internet Traffic". You will have to wait until you amass 6 CRIT points to find out what happens!

"Duh... maybe my comment gets bonus points for being extra CRITical? It must be triggered by derogatory phrases! I should be more insulting - mikey has the right idea."

Tsssk! So many Americans, but not a single one is versed in gaming terms? CRIT is short for "critical hit". It stems from Dungeons & Dragons, where if you rolled the highest number on your attack die (=dice, non-plural), you could roll twice the amount of hit dice to determine damage. Triple for some weapons in the latest edition. Many games incorporate their own versions of criticals, often simplified into something like "150-250% dmg, triggers X% of the time you hit".
It's comparable with the occasional +2 pts you get for posting a comment, but the comparison falls short since you get 0 pts for non-CRIT comments.

CRIT = 'critical thinking', when I Yahoo-gle it.
