Good old Daves
You look at the job ads for China and there is still no new visa requirements in details. I am referring to the ABC talent requirements as its a long list and lots of prepping. Now look at the Korean side of job ads and you'll see the list and requirements.
So why haven't jobs on Daves ESL started posting jobs with the new requirements? The laws have started, my HR pulls her hair out due to them, its a pain in the butt to hire teachers in China and outside of China now.
mmmm, guess we gotta wait till April 1st.
I would stay at your current job, even if its hell.

When a lot (My guess is half or more) of schools can't hire foreigners legally anyway why bother with "credentials"?
I thought the ABC thing was being tested in GZ first.
My RP is due for renewal about a month after the trial starts. But they have already said they have another new thing to be introduced.
Three years ago, they said I would qualify for a D this year, Now it's ABC, Now something else.
Come May, it will be another stamp in the brown book, another RP in the passport, and at least another 5 years of crap stories on China daily before something actually happens.
All foreigners in China are fucked since the CFTU vanished:-)

Oh man, this new Visa baby has been hitting big cities left and right, I've already been to 4 goodbye parties due to the visa changes and most want to leave because Japan was easier to get a working visa, just needed a copy of the degree & cert. My HR in Shenzhen has offered Y3000 bonus for helping to find new teachers that stay over 3 months and asks us everyday "Have you found any new friends to join Wall Street?", No No No No!
So I am just wondering when they will post these requirements on the China Job forum on Daves ESL Cafe like they do on the Korea Job forum.
Hotwater:
Have you actually tried contacting the authorities yet about the "D" visa?
you've been married 6 years, have a good/stable jobs and pay taxes. You own an apartment. If you don't ask you'll never know...
This is the first job ad with the new requirements that I've seen, the sign of the future, scroll down and take a look see at it, this is a Shenzhen job offer, they require the Degree & Police check to be notarized, not sure if they mixed that up with Authentication Embassy stickers.
ironman510:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (notarized)
- Two years' teaching experience after graduation is preferred
- Native English speaker from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, the United States, or the U.K
- Should hold a TESOL, TEFL, or CELTA
- Criminal background check (police check, notarized)
- Excellent physical and mental health
- Teachers already in China with a working visa will be short listed!

Haha China is picky on foreigners, not even being able to attract them. Soon they will have to look for teachers in prisons.
ironman510:
Or a new class of teachers: DUI teachers / ADHD Teachers / Loko Teachers / New Age Teachers. hahaha
