2-5 months after my wife and I announced her pregnancy to her friends, more than half of them became pregnant (unfortunately, I only knocked up one woman; my wife... hopefully there's still room for more). Was this our fault, or is it totally common for this to happen in China?
Moreover, all of my unmarried co-workers got knocked up as well. All of them. Most of my unmarried female friends in China got themselves a bun in the oven, too.
We're talking 18-22 year olds, many who were still in college.
Has this got something to do with the Spring Festival recently? Most people would go back to their hometowns, got matched and got together.....in China it's ok to get preggie before getting hitched. The other reason is, perhaps, herd instinct? I think the former is more likely.
Hulk:
We did announce our pregnancy right before the spring festival last year, yes.

Well, congratulations are in order, Hulk! A bullet to the head, as always! Cheers!
Erm.... unmarried mothers.... in China?
You sure about that Hulk? No book..... no baby.
Hulk:
Most of them got married shortly thereafter.
And yes, there are actually quite a few unmarried mothers.
It may be the spring time and your desire to have another new born baby that makes you see so closely the ones who just had a baby.
It is probably a mix of Ted having been to China recently and the fact your wife is more alert to those getting knocked up that those un-knocked up. Also, there is a certain age bracket where this happens
