Q: Do any MacDoalds have drive thru?

I have hot date. Do you know of any MickeyDs with drive thru?. I want  to impress my date, by stopping for food on my bicycle before I drive her to my apartment. I also want extra ketsup for later.

No they don't but they were in talks to making that happen. I'm pretty sure they gave that up in China. It would be a mess was the last of the comments I heard about that. The cars would be lining up for miles waiting hours to get their happy meals.

Well, I would assume that there aren't any for 2 reasons. The first being that having cars is still fairly new, and they aren't thinking in that direction yet. The second is that there probably isn't the space or setup to allow for that sort of thing. Besides, the people want to go inside, to sit down and eat. Do they have that much carry-out stuff? Do people like that?

I've never seen one in Changsha, but as all the Mickey D's are downtown, that really wouldn't be an option.

They show a Chinese drive thru in the commercials that loop over and over in the McD's.

I have seen several with drive-thru's in Guangzhou.  But, in order to trip the sensors that will let the staff know you are there, you and your date will need to jump up and down since they are calibrated to the weight of a car.

But just think of it as practice for when you get her back to your place.  And instead of ketchup, I recommend the sweet & sour sauce, it is a much better lube and will spice things up a bit.

DaBen:

Thanks a lot for bringing up the sweet and sour sauce. You gave me flashbacks of the night were I ended up curled up in the corner crying.

Didn't you read the warning label? It specifically said, "Do not use on open sores, cracks or areas that ooze."

Of course I read the label... I'm not stupid.... I just might not have read it until the day after.

There is a drive-through in Shanghai, up in the Gubei area where a lot of people own cars and it's not as densely populated.  A drivethrough downtown wouldn't make sense.
