We get the what visa Question every month or so and I was interested if anybody here had to supply proof of financial support or a bond to get their Visa?
I just had to tell them I could support myself on a F and the L visa's I've had in the past
My wife had to supply proof when she came to Australia but never heard of it for China.
Does it depend on what country you are from?

I have had to provide bank statements for a visa once in China. And I know that China is considered a 'high risk' country for issuing visas and so most people who are getting a first time visa are required to give a bond as proof that they will actually return to China.

What visa was it L? F? Z?
The question was based around a post from yesterday
which I still haven't had a reply to yet
(me thinks me smell Bull Shit)
I could understand security for a L visa but not a F or a Z
as they are Business related.and a income you would think be a natural assumption

For me it was for an L visa. I have never been asked for income proof on any other type of visa.
When I applied for my first visa i read many from the USA had to provide bank statements, hotel reservations etc. I walked in with everything. They only took my application and didn't want anything else. I have a 1 year, 90 day stay now. i just filled in the application. I just have an L, I don't work here.
There is no bond for an L visa or F visa, I have heard of agencies asking for them though, however, it is stated in the PSB requirements to provide proof of financial stability to be able to obtain a L or F visa, when it's asked for would depend on where you are at and how they feel. A lot of their economy is based on foreigners spending in China therefore they are lax, if you are married to a citizen they know that you can stay with in laws, all depends.
In over 15 years, and maybe 10 different L visas, I had never had to post a bond, show hotel reservations, nothing, except photos, application and fee plus my passport.
At present I do have a 2 years, multiple entry, 120 days stay. This is my second 2 years visa. My first one was one entry, six months and 30 days. And every subsequent one has been a little better.
