I don't think the have the same loyalty as in China. At my company, Chinese staff come and go so fast that I don't know who's who most of the time. The high staff turnover and the speed at which Chinese staff change jobs came as a big surprise to me when I moved to China.

I don't agree, about loyalty it depends, not only the stuff but company should trust too.

I will leave my company if my boss doesn't trust me, doesn't use me and of course if he doesn’t value me.

if a company can't value your ablities or give what your worth, will you still stay there? I don't think any people want to change a job frequently.

Nope, the name of the game is money, not loyalty.

From what I have seen, the job hopping rate exceeds that of the USA. It is hard to be faithful to a company that is not interested in helping you to expand as an individual. Working for a Chinese company is a very complicated game of laying low and doing what the boss say to do, even if you think it is wrong.

I had a friend who's employee for five years just simply stole his clients, freelancers and started her own business after lying and telling him she was moving back to her hometown. What she didn't reckon was that all his freelancers were laowai, and he'd been very good to us over the years, we are more loyal about things like that than the Chinese are. So, as soon as he told us what she did no one would work for her when she called. She didn't last long... bitch.

Things aren't set - everything's moving. So many Chinese feel like their parent's generation had it best, because that was really the 'El Dorado' time, where you REALLY had the chance to climb the ladder, no matter who you were.

They feel like the window of that time is almost closed. So no, they don't care for company loyalty - they're scrambling desperately to get the best they can get as soon as possible

no...they just care about money..i know many  chinese friends who always change thei job time to time.

I would say that there is company loyalty in the bigger, higher profile brand name companies that can offer better benefits, possibility of advancement, etc., etc.

Maybe there is another factor that has to be considered in relationship to this particular question - the attitude of the employers!

Western companies, HR staff etc. have a very different outlook on recruitment and staff welfare. Chinese staff are treated badly so they will never have a feeling of loyalty. Likewise, western recruiters look for stability in applicants work history. Job hopping is seen as a big negative. Chinese employers will recruit somebody simply because they might have a smidgen of useful information from a previous company. that doe not make for much of a loyalty culture. Then there are those that will employ simply because of an applicant's looks or "permissiveness". Again, if this is a reason to employ a person, you cannot expect much more than them to leave at the first available opportunity.
