Q: Do they sell Prilosec here in China?

If not, anyone know the best available remedies for heartburns?

Yes, you will be able to find it in the larger chemists in the city where you live - however --

Prilosec is the brand name for omeprazole.  When you go to the chemist, you will need to ask for omeprazole.  If the chemist doesn't have it, then the local hospital dispensary surely will.

Hopes this help you.

To do this you will have to know enough Mandarin, or have a translator with you.

Locate and print some technical information about Prisolec.  Get it translated to Mandarin, and print both versions.

Go to a large pharmacy in your community, and show them both printed versions and ask them if they have it.

If they do not, ask them if they have a good equivalent.

The above has worked for me in more than a couple of occasions, when I needed a foreign medicine.  I either located it or was shown a good equivalent to it.

Hope this helps you.

Here is info from another post I made, copied for your convenience:

Yes. All western. Forget the handfuls of yellow, green, and brown pills...Here's the most common western medicine for stomach and diarrhea (cha cha cha):

洛哌丁胺 - lou pai ding an - Loperamide (Immodium)
西咪替丁 -xi mi ti ding - Cimetidine (Tagamet)
奥美拉唑 - ao mei la zuo - Omeprazole (prilosec.zegarid)
兰索拉唑 - lan suo la zuo - Lansoprazole (Prevacid)
法莫替丁 - fa mo ti ding - famotidine (Pepcid AC)

and

铋水杨酸 - bi shui yang suan - BISMUTH SUBSALICYLATE - aka Pepto Bismol (available in tablet and liquid form)

There is a Chinese medicine in a blue package that has a big yellow "1,2,3,4" on the label that is cheap and works as an ok antacid, but it has a ton of licorice root extract, DO NOT take if you have high blood pressure as licorice root can increase your BP further.

All of the above are available over the counter - most brands I have seen have the English chemical name (3rd in the list of each item) on the package, but I have never seen "brand name" packages.

Hope this helps, it took me years to gather this information Laughing out loud

Another note Rakifi, there will be 3 brands to buy usually.  NEVER buy the cheap one.  It's cap.  he midrange one i usually ok, just check the dosage.  The most expensive is the export quality type, so if your problem is pretty severe, spend the money and get that one!

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
