I was wondering how many of you get e-mails from random people trying to exchange QQ numbers/ email addresses with you.
I haven't but I've gotten dodgy e-mail from other people especially those from Nigeria....I don't use QQ.
My ex-boss and coemployees used to give out my number/email/etc to anyone who wanted a "foreigner friend" or who wanted to "practice English". Could be that. A foreigner's docs tend to get spread around a lot.
I've gotten several private messages on this site from people I don't know, some saying hi and some asking for my info. I just ignore them.
Pretty much like a send to all message. Thumbs up for y'all
some companys find our emails on here and try to hook you.
the worst one is Alibaba if you register as a company.

if anybody here wants to PM me please use your handle from here
so at least I know you
One can keep one's QQ profile "private" so that the only publicly listed details are the number and nothing more. Additionally, there are blocks on QQ that can be put into place to drastically reduce the number of unwanted callers. I have had QQ for 10 years now in China and it has never been a problem.
Yahoo, in China, for whatever reason, has been a problem -- both Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Messenger. Yahoo Mail generates a tremenduous amount of spam here. On my Yahoo Messenger I receive a lot of unwanted add-ons which I do not accept.
MSN and Skype are relatively trouble-free here, at least for me.
