Q: Do you get bad colds or flu in China? and

 ,,,do you get flu shots?
This is the second time my GF has been very sick with what she calls a cold, but she complains that her whole body hurts. I think this is flu. I hardly ever get colds except in summer. I've had the flu along time ago.

I don't think I have the flu, but then again, maybe I don't know exactly what the flu should feel like. I've been sick for several weeks now, I think I might also have a slight fever the last few days. I have never gotten more colds in my life. This is the second or third since I moved here. I've never gotten a flu shot and I don't plan to.

I got one really bad cold over winter that I just couldn't shake off. It lasted two odd weeks just before the spring festival break and the only thing that fixed it eventually was four days in bed. I'm actually surprised I haven't had more, the kids I teach are constantly coughing and sneezing all over me.

I've been here a week, I watched weather in Guilin from home and it's totally wrong, weather says milder with rain everyday. it's rained once, it fricken freezin and i left my winter coat at home. I don't get colds at home. I haven't had one in 3 years. Last night I felt really strange, so went home to bed, woke up with sore throat, back and runny nose.
One week in China and I'm almost set to go home cause its too cold, no heat most places.

You need to layer up!  Go buy some longjohns, warm underwear...whatever you want to call them.  And of course, go buy a frikkin heavy coat already.  These items are not that expensive here. Also, start drinking hot water.  Basically....do the same things as the Chinese do to cope with the cold temps.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
