Q: Do you know you can pick money off the trees ?

Picked one of those red envelopes of a tree in one of the local banks. It had a 1 jiao note in it. It is perhaps not the most impressive "get rich quick" scheme, but still

I didn't know you could take those, i've never dared. Probably because I tried to help myself to a tangerine from one of those tangerine trees they put on display outside apartment complexes around this time and the security guard told me to f*** off.

airyk:

What? I've had a tangerine every day for the last week or so. Everyone seems thrilled that I want to eat one, and often invite me in for tea after I help myself to their tree. Maybe we are in very different cities.

Maybe we're in different countries, in my experience anything that's free is gone with the next gust of wind.

I think now, some weeks into CNY, the tangerines are starting to look somewhat dated.

Why didn't you take the tree home and transplant it? When it matures maybe it will produce 100Y notes.

Scandinavian:

yes, in a thousand years, I would have to live with useless 53CNY notes until then, which we all know is what the crop is from these trees until they have grown sufficiently large
