Q: Do you read Chinese official newspapers?

My daily news feed:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-01-12/chinas-official-military-newsp...

China's Official Military Newspaper Warns: "War Is Not Far"

"War is not far from us. Regional situations around China are complex and unstable, and dangers are hiding under the peace. China cannot afford a military failure, so we must be fully aware of potential crisis and be prepared for battle at all times. When the country is on the brink of becoming a great military power, it’s also stepping into a period with high risks to national security," the official People’s Liberation Army (PLA) newspaper wrote according to China's Global Times.

asd

The article first headlined on Tuesday in the PLA daily: "A soldier without desire for war-preparedness is not a good soldier." The newspaper warned that Chinese soldiers are not ready for combat because many refuse to believe war is imminent.

The Iran deal makes no difference in the overall long term life of the people in the middle east. Saudi Arabia will nuke up over the next 10 years, no matter what happens, the moderate leaders of Saudi will become closer and closer aligned with Israel for their own self preservation from hard liners from other nations like Iran and from their own domestic clerics. This Iran deal was the democratic party taking payoffs from American corporations who think they can get rich selling planes and technology to Iran, and give the DNC some political donations for pushing it through. The idea that Iran would actually buy the American planes and not double cross America and buy from Europe or China has never even been mentioned by the press anywhere. The Iran deal has not changed the dynamics or political stability of anything, Iran has more cash on hand to buy off agitators, and a nice agreement to wipe their ass with when they are short on toilet paper and water.

The deal should have been done after they actually built up some refining capacity, they still are working on nuclear and import gasoline for their cars.

I suspect any military newspaper, in any country, is going to be full of propaganda and bullshit.

This is probably the governments way of 'motivating' the troops to stop being fat, lazy and corrupt and start being obedient and subservient.

They have probably been recycling the same basic message ever since they started publication.

icnif77:

Yeah, I got that too.

The article is admitting it's 'stimulating toward soldiers'.

However, headline is 'standing-out' angel among all graphs at ZeroHedge.

Big mess in USA especially in economy similar to 2003 ..... I am safe in Russia .... LOLOL

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/jan/13/nuclear-policy-rev...

Excerpt:

News that the Trump administration’s nuclear policy review loosens constraints on the use of nuclear weapons to improve US military capabilities is a case of déjà vu. It’s back to the hottest moments of the cold war and a reinforcement of the first principle of American nuclear policy – first-use – a policy of questionable value and certain immorality.

Reports claim that it is designed to “send a clear deterrent message to Russians, the North Koreans and the Chinese”. This is one-size-fits-all nuclear thinking: “Fire and fury like the world has never seen.” It is another misguided and dangerous policy, as its critics have made clear.

“This is not a species to be trusted with nuclear weapons,” Ellsberg writes, presciently. Certainly, Donald Trump is not to be trusted with nuclear weapons. Neither is his doppelgänger in the Kremlin. Nor the prime ministers of India and Pakistan. Nor Little Rocket Man. Dr King’s “fierce urgency of now” never seemed more urgent than now.

Thank Trump for letting the American people in on the dirty secret of nuclear weapons, for making that choice as graphic as it has ever been. The nuclear age has come full circle. But is anyone outside the Beltway paying attention?

Why are they all posting about on the same day? Chinese, British, Russians ... ZeroHedge c&p ....

ambivalentmace:

You can't get a man to a bargaining table unless he thinks your crazy and will use nuclear weapons. Talking to North Korea and being a good Christian "turn the other cheek" attitude by paying him off, giving him respect, allowing technology transfers, none of this shit worked over the last 50 years and Trump will not leave the problem for the next president. The Chinese believe they have to do something to help get nuclear weapons off the Korean peninsula or Trump will do something that will make Asia unstable and ruin their dreams of being a formidable regional power. The North Korean leader just thinks having a nuclear threat will keep him from being another Saddam Hussein or Mohmar Khadify,  a reasonable point of view actually. I think Trump will push to the edge of war because this is the only thing that will work, nothing else has worked and giving North Korea to China is still the best solution to the problem if Kim does not relent, the problem now is Russia is interfering and Trump will have to give them something for staying out of the way.

Russia has lambasted the apparent US intention to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal and scrap the agreement. Such a move could be one of Washington’s grave foreign policy mistakes, Russia’s deputy foreign minister said.

The Chinese soldiers run from battles in Africa and don't fight. The problem is the mind of the Chinese male has been brainwashed.China is the center of the world on our school maps and the rest of the world does not matter because we are the greatest and most powerful country on Earth. I do not need to fight in another country and miss my family. We need to be prepared for invaders only, but our country is overcrowded, polluted with bad drinking water and pollution, so why would anybody invade us, to what end, for what purpose, don't bother me with this shit, I need to finish my computer game and my mom has some blind dates set up for me to find a wife. I don't have time for soldier bullshit and the money and pay is lousy and now the corruption is gone and I can't get rich being an officer. What is in this for Me? How much does my family get if I die in Africa as a peacekeeper, your kidding right, my funeral will cost more than 50000 rmb, what school can I afford to send my kid to school at for my soldier pay, I work as a soldier in this city, but my hukao want allow my son to go school there, thanks for honoring my service to the country. My father is an ex soldier in China getting 200 rmb a month pension, how much will I get, you don't know, but we love you and will promise to take care of you when you are older, you pinky swear and promise, where do I sign up. I have not even touched on the elephant in the room, a Chinese male would never protect a black female from genocide or rape because of the underlying intolerant racism in their culture, this simply want happen, I have killed many defending civilians of all religions and races and this simply is of no concern to a Chinese male, If you your not Chinese "SCREW YOU". If you can't get a good samaritan law to help your own people dying on the sidewalk to make a phone call instead of making a video on their phone, the rest of the world getting any empathy from China is nothing short of a utopian pipe dream, unless you can be screwed on a business deal for money or resources, then you can be my friend until you are no longer useful to my country.

ambivalentmace:

It is ironic and sad that you always say all sides should talk, let's have dialogue, negotiation is the answer.  Then one day you say we need to be strong and fight, and take a stand. For more than a generation the answer has been talk, stay neutral or this does not concern us, we don't care, or will you help "maybe". and now you don't understand the lackadaisical attitude of your male recruits and soldiers. If you block information on the internet, keep your people in a bubble and then ask them to commit to something outside the bubble with no explanation as to why they need to do this, what in the hell do you think is going to happen.

Shocking Video Shows Kid Placed In Storm Drain During Hawaii's False ICBM Warning

Not only did yesterday's stunning false alarm warning of inbound ballistic missiles leave Hawaiians "crying and screaming", it caused some parents to resort to hiding their children in storm drains.

As Alex Thomas notes, while citizens who were on Twitter were informed that the alert was false within ten minutes, it took upwards of 38 minutes for government officials to officially correct said false alarm with a second text message.

I do it from time to time to see what the officail line or what different information is let out. I tend to check the Metro section more often, it tends to be more honest.

A: In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in releva
A:In my personal experience, teaching certificates have varied in relevance depending on the context and location. Here's a breakdown of each aspect:a) Getting the teaching job: Teaching certificates can certainly enhance your chances of securing a teaching position, especially in formal educational settings such as schools and language institutions. Many employers prefer candidates who have undergone specific training in pedagogy and instructional techniques, which these certificates often provide. However, other factors such as experience, references, and the demand for teachers in a particular area also play significant roles in the hiring process.b) Getting a higher salary than your uncertified competitors: In some cases, holding a teaching certificate can indeed lead to a higher salary compared to uncertified competitors. Many educational institutions have structured salary scales that take into account factors such as level of education, years of experience, and additional certifications. Holding a teaching certificate may place you in a higher salary bracket or make you eligible for certain salary incentives or bonuses. However, this can vary widely depending on the specific policies of the institution or organization.c) Getting promotions: Teaching certificates can be beneficial for career advancement and securing promotions within the field of education. They demonstrate a commitment to professional development and mastery of teaching skills, which are qualities that many employers value when considering candidates for leadership positions or administrative roles. Additionally, some promotions may require specific certifications or qualifications, making holding a teaching certificate essential for advancement in certain cases.Regarding which certificate yields better results, it largely depends on the specific requirements of the job market and the educational context in which you intend to work. For example:A Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is often highly regarded in formal school settings and can be advantageous for those seeking positions in primary or secondary education.Montessori certification is valuable for individuals interested in working in Montessori schools or implementing Montessori principles in their teaching approach.A Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate is particularly relevant for those seeking to teach English to non-native speakers in international contexts or language schools.Ultimately, the best certificate for you will depend on your career goals, the specific requirements of the positions you're interested in, and the preferences of potential employers in your target job market. It's essential to research the requirements and preferences of employers in your desired field and tailor your qualifications accordingly. -- ruqaiya761
