Q: Do you still watch TV now that you're in China?

I've completely given up watching TV because everything is so BAD! There is literally not one good show or programme worth watching on Chinese TV in my opinion!

I only watch randomly a chinese show in a Shandong channel on weekends which is about a contest to run among obstacles to avoid fall in the water. Is quite fun, sometimes they have nice girls and also u can have fun with the lack of athleticness of people who go there. Totally recommended haha

Thats the only chinese program I can see

Yes I mostly watch the sports channels because they will have the NbA, some soccer games and also they will have olympic sports playing from time to time.

Sometimes some people have a channel that broadcasts DotA tournaments. That's the only acceptable thing I've seen so far...

I watch streaming video from projectfreetv.com.  All the latest shows from back home.

I never watch Chinese TV unless the gf is watching and I have no choice....this is why I spend so much time online now.

I only watch TV online through any of the many streaming sites, or I just download any shows/movies I can't find easily on the web.

Finding the shows streaming on Chinese websites is always my first choice since they come with Chinese subtitles.  That way my wife and I can both enjoy them.

I will watch it with my wife if I get hooked on a story line of a mini series (sad but true)

and I will watch the children  programs with my kids sometimes

and I like Happy Camp that gives me a good laugh

but I go online to watch the local news in Australia or on a bad China day catch up on

a sitcom

I haven't really watched TV since January. The last time I turned it on, I couldn't watch anything. I don't think the school has paid for me to get any channels for a while and I don't really care anyway. Like phil said, I like Happy Camp and Love Apartment isn't bad either. Otherwise I don't pay much attention.

linwenqiang:

well,u know, happy camp is quite popular in chinia, most of twenties are suer fans of the program, like me,but i am surprised u guys like watching love apartment, although it is a kind of comedy show, it is easy for u gus figure out the whole content?

I haven't watched much tv since I came to China. I think some of the shows are just overly dramatic and I agree, some are downright bad.

I even stopped watching NBA games because I can't follow the Chinese commentators.

Usually just download movies and shows from the internet.

Oh, but there is this one talk show, mr. Zhou's show (周立波秀) that I like to watch. It's like a kind of comedy talk show.

Luckily that in this country, it's easy to buy DVDs, otherwise I would have killed myself since long time ago.

Watching TV in China is like watching Pyongyang TV program.....Whenever you turn to a TV channel, you can just hear the magic words "3000 years history", "China invented this and that", "China was the first to...."

So to h*** with Chinese TV

I quit watching TV long ago at home, got sick of movie channels playing the same thing, a 52'' plasma with surround, I didn't want my TV hooked up here, but GF turns it on as soon as she comes over, then she is in her trance until I need to revive her.
